I think both can be good depending on what your playing,my early videos were basic mime to backing tracks with a guitar just to get the song out there, now i prefer to put more content in the songvids like dressing up and different angles to make it more interesting
ОтветитьIm ligit who yall r talking about
ОтветитьI really get the sense you guys don't have very broad taste and only pay attention to what's popular among a specific audience because there's some amazing music videos. MJ 'Thriller', every Tool video, every Nine Inch Nails video. Only amateurs make music videos of themselves playing unless it's a high quality live video with desk audio. You don't want to overwhelm people with mediocre content either, people will get jaded and bored. Release high quality music sparingly, create exclusivity and excitement. If you can't figure that out then you either need to spend a lot more time doing research and up your game otherwise this game isn't for you. My favourite artists NEVER post on social media let alone their own website unless they have a new product/music or tour coming out because they're busy making quality and only releasing quality, so there's always a sense of hype when something does get announced. Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Trent Reznor, Radiohead, Tool, those are the kind of artists you should be paying attention to. Especially Trent Reznor.
ОтветитьYou guys are super awesome
ОтветитьYeah nice, I just realised that I'm not a professional and that it's OK... why didn't I saw that earlyer.
Thank you.
I can release my work anyway...
Very interesting
Thanks so much once again!
Really good tips as usual.. If I miss you guys here I catch you on IG Cheers Follow back !? 😁
ОтветитьJustin Bieber became successful using raw content , basically a simple video of him singing and playing guitar capture via an iPhone
ОтветитьGood content. Too many ads to my taste. Not cool
ОтветитьUK is a first world country and AC is not a normal thing ?! LOL
ОтветитьRaw is king, BUT, your mic and camera still need to be decent, the presenter needs to be comfortable and the content needs to be GOOD.
ОтветитьThink TV is always going to be different than online. Good talk. ✔
ОтветитьDrake God's plan was raw
ОтветитьAhead of game.. True words
ОтветитьI've tried it all... raw - high production - there is just so much noise today that cutting through is very difficult.
ОтветитьThank you 🙏 this is true
ОтветитьThanks, Thanks Thanks!!!
ОтветитьYou guys are wrong in so many ways I love you maddy I love you Alex but I think it's not more of a raw vs polished it's all about creativity to be honest and to top everything off the people decide
ОтветитьThis is soo helpful
ОтветитьI try to be as professional as possible but it doesn’t always come across that way. Lol
ОтветитьEvery day???
ОтветитьGreat stuff, but why not both?
Raw content for the short-term [Engagement]
While the polished/professional stuff can be for the bigger, long-term. [Legacy]
Both have their effective place in the marketing chain/funnel. So I really don't think it has to be one or the other.
But I think it really depends on the stage of the "artists to fan" relationship.
Professionalism creates mystique. And everyone loves a good mystery!
But people also crave the intimacy with the people and things they hold dear.
A balance of both is needed! :)
I think this applies for 95% of the artists out there, because when the artist is REALLY good, like the Kid Cudis, Avicciis, Eminems etc. it's important to keep a distance from the audience to create that barrier so they can chase you, but your product needs to be legendary
ОтветитьTwo conclusions: 1. make raw content 2. when you make prof. music videos, add a narrative
ОтветитьGreat video as always. I know that this music marketing stuff is highly fluid and it's good to get your latest feelings on that topic.
ОтветитьWhy do I want tea all of a sudden
Ответитьdid alex get a tan or grow his beard or something ? something seems diff
Ответить@Burstimo, I just saw that you guys have a job out looking for a PR manager. I have actually put in an application for the role indeed. I've actually spent most of my working life as a recruiter. for the past 6 years, I have dealt with staffing and recruitment across a few different sectors, however, for the last 2 years, I have used all of my free time managing my young brother, an independent musician, building his profile and growing his brand. Off the back of this, I started Meerkat Music, creating high-quality content using my various connections for other independent artists and putting them out on our social media channels (this channel). As well as doing this, under the umbrella of Meerkat Music, I started putting on live events around London. I'd love the opportunity to tell you a little more about what I've done in the music industry as well as why I think I'd be a good fit for your company.
ОтветитьThis helps me unlearn this idea that I have that my music is unworthy if it’s not, “perfect.”
ОтветитьLove this video! 👏👏👏
Getting past the barrier of "needs to be perfect or no one cares" really messed with me for a LONG TIME 💯
Now, I've started focusing on putting content out and getting better with each video, post, etc because I know the right audience will be attracted to what I'm doing 🤜🤛
Each day I'm closer to where I wanna be and hope anyone reading this is too 🍻🍻🍻
What do you guys think about a combination of raw and pro content?
Ответитьburstimo , please reply to my email! thanks :)
ОтветитьRAW, with an artistic approach? :D
Keep it up & more power! just subbed!
I just released my first song ever! please check it on my channel or any streaming platform. Id appreciate if any of you give me feedback<3 (Moe Zoubi - 99)
ОтветитьLike you guys said, an established artist can literally do whatever they want. They've already built a trustworthy relationship with their fanbase who will buy whatever they want to sell. Up and coming artists just have to stay true to what they believe. If you try to follow trends and constantly change your angle it's going to come across as disingenuous. Love these chats!!
Ответитьlol you're talking bout ok go music video i think
ОтветитьVery valuable again. I follow some of your advices for few months and it works. Thanks!
ОтветитьVery interesting but... 6 x2 advertisement interruptions? Seriously?
ОтветитьRaw Content....YES! Loved both your ideas for raw content, definitely worth trying. What's the possibility of you perhaps taking the time in a video to explain, with examples, how to do the pitch for New Music Friday, if one doesn't have much background experience?
ОтветитьGreat stuff guys!
ОтветитьGreat video. Reassuring to watch because I naturally started using social media this way, especially showing creation of songs, so good to know I'm on the right track .
ОтветитьRaw every time
Production
Everyone!!## production is so dated right now
20 years from now no one will like the mainstream music happening now
This channel is literally fire, so much valuable and relevant information - keep it up guys it’s appreciated ✋🏼💯
Ответитьto be quiet honest alex looks like the singer from x ambassadors and maddy looks like the mary austin actor from the Queen biopic
thank you so much for providing such useful content !!!!
Hi guys🖐️🖐️ ..I've been following ur channel recently and I hv an urgent Q ...Is distrokid An Option for people living india???
ОтветитьConclusion is that the music doesn’t have to be raw or professional it just has to be presentable 🙌🏾🔥
