I mean, he mastered them at the end of legend of Korra. So that’s good enough.
ОтветитьConsidering how skilled Aang was in each element, he almost undoubtedly had then all completely mastered by the time he died. It is arguable that LoK doesn’t portray that well enough but from we can see, as an adult Aang was at least slightly better at several things: the air scooter (which he invented), resisting bloodbending, trapping people with earthbending, taking down moving targets with swipes of air, energybending, and especially controlling the Avatar State. He did all of these without any major difficulty against Yakone, who was probably not enough of a challenge to push Aang to his full abilities (either that or he was “nerfed” by the LoK writers).
Now there are some things that we don’t know if Aang ever was able to do—some of them perhaps aren’t learnable and are simply up to genetics: metalbending, healing, lightning generation, bloodbending, and lavabending. The only thing that he almost certainly would have never been able to do is combustionbend, along with specific things that didn’t exist until LoK (i.e. fly without a glider or firebending, since Zaheer was the first person to do so) or things to do with plot (i.e. bending in the Spirit World due to Raava semantics). All of the other “subsets” of bending have evidence of potential and reasons for lack thereof but they are all highly plausible. I personally would love to think Aang just completely learned everything possible.
So, the sum things up, here are all the intricacies/special abilities of bending for Aang in each category and type—I would say he did in fact master every element in terms of how they are conventionally used—i.e. abilities that any bender would be able to learn for each element:
CONFIRMED TO HAVE LEARNED
Air: Air scooter (entirely mastered, including the ability to stand on it and maintain it for an indefinite amount of time), gliding (flying without propulsion, rather manipulating lift in his flowy outfit or wings of a glider), air sphere in Avatar State, levitating while in the Avatar State
Water: Just bending massive volumes of water
Earth: Seismic sense (including blindfolded earthbending) and mid-air bending in the Avatar State (in his battle against Ozai we saw that he could send rocks flying at high speeds in rapid succession, while requiring no physical connection with the ground to earthbend)
Fire: Lightning redirection, fire-breathing/roaring even outside of the Avatar State, creating fire as hot as lava in the Avatar State (we saw that he could melt solid stone)
Other: Energybending, agility without bending, chi sensing, being a spirit medium, being able to contact past lives as well as various other Avatar Spirit abilities, even outside of the Avatar State, and completely resisting bloodbending in the Avatar State, as well as being a very talented dancer—also, gymnastics without airbending and degrees of musical and artistic talent
QUITE VERY PLAUSIBLE—LIKELY:
Air: Air sphere outside of Avatar State
Water: Healing, bloodbending, completely resisting bloodbending outside of the Avatar State
Earth: Metalbending, lavabending
Fire: Propelling himself with fire, making fire daggers, generating lightning, bending different-colored fire, creating fire up to 3000 degrees outside of Avatar State
Other: Offensive hand-to-hand combat, spiritual projection, bending in the Spirit World
SLIGHTLY UNLIKELY—SURELY NOT LEARNED:
Air: Flight/weightlessness outside of Avatar State
Water: Spiritbending
Earth: Nothing I can think of
Fire: Combustionbending
Other: Astral projection, connecting with Avatar Wan and/or Raava
I’ll continue this later.
It depends on what you call master. In martial arts, there differentl levels of mastery top levels are called grandmasters. I think it is unfair to compare his mastery (he still uses advanced techniques) to toph, katara, and azula/ozai who I would consider grandmasters of their one element.
Ответитьthe official channel for avatar said aang did master them All
ОтветитьAang probadly had already mastered all 4 elements when he fought yakone
ОтветитьAang learned the elements and how to use them to a great extent. I'm pretty sure that a few years after the war he practiced to make his bending better and soon mastered it. besides, he took the most time to learn to master The Avatar State.
ОтветитьThe reason ozai was able to break his earthing is because of sozins comit
ОтветитьI'd say he mastered the basics by the end of the series...advanced? Probably not.
ОтветитьAang is the worst avatar, it took him 112 years just to learn the elements
ОтветитьWants was a natural at air and water.
Learn fire bending from the DRAGONS.
used seismic sense. A master level move.
Yes he is a master
He was the youngest till Jenora, his grand daughter, who mastered it at 11
ОтветитьHe mastered the basics/fundamentals of all the elements
ОтветитьI’m not sure we’re being fair to Aang’s earthbending skills. He can handle himself against the Dai Li! And watch him handle the King’s guards in Ba Sing Se or create that zoo with ease! I think Aang wasn’t one of the greatest Earth benders yet but was definitely better than most because of his time with Toph.
I think Aang’s love for Katara and her jealousy held him back in water bending. He was prodigious in the element but then slowed his progress after she lashed out in insecurity.
I find it kinda funny how the comments that are made, are truly concluded from a Western perspective. It's as if you need to 'master'/'teach' or get taught how to do certain things, or can't rely on your past lives for your talents...
It's just as easy as it is: you already put in the work or you got the talent and get the result you want to have, right? Ain't that the most important?
And as far modes go and such, it's still the same spirit, but that's why they call it 'avatar', it's the sum of all those past life years together which resulted in that 'said' avatar form.
Short answer: Yes, eventually he did
ОтветитьQuestion, can one “see” air bending Antoine?
ОтветитьNow that Korea’s connection to the previous Avatars has been broken, will the cycle continue
ОтветитьI mean we don’t know he proficiency in the elements later in his life so we can’t really compare him to other masters like paku
ОтветитьHe mastered Air
He mastered Fire
He mastered Earth
And Water was Mastered
It was the discipline that he mastered not the fighting
1. seismic sense is an ability that even great earth bending masters are not able to achive and the earth wall holds not from his skill but his physical strength.
2. ang was able to control large amounts of water meaning he is strong enough to be called a master.
3. ang can fly with fire and redirect lightning and that means he is also strong enough to be called a master.
in my opinion ang mastered all of the elements
For earth, you missed when he threw 3 boulder, perfectly aimed at the engines of the fire lord’s zeppelin. I feel like a non-master couldn’t get that kind of accuracy
ОтветитьHe was truly the master of all elements compatible to his powerful behavioral mind compare than Sozin and Ozai. I believe that only the avatar who couldn’t resist firebending with his help of Zuko despite the fact he was most powerful firebender in the world’s nation. So he deserves to be the prophecy of war, accepting Avatar Roku’s advice for Aang.
ОтветитьThe siege of the north wAteR sPirIt was the ocean spirit who activated Aang’s avatar state when the moon spirit was killed.
ОтветитьEven though he didn't master all of the elements I think he was doing a pretty good job against Ozai even before the avatar state... keep in mind he was trying to not kill him while ozai was trying to kill aang. So he was holding back and playing defense and still had several chances to win... Had it been a regular day without the comet he would have beaten Ozai much faster...
ОтветитьHe mastered all of the basics
ОтветитьEither way it’s in aangs favor because it says only avatar with mastered elements can defeat the firelord.
If he didn’t master elements then that means an avatar that supposedly has to be fully mastered with the elements to beat the fire lord, won
Why did aang still like katara since he unlocked his last chakra? the monk said that he had to let go of what he loved in order to unlock it. Also wouldnt that mean he would be able to fly? since in korra you could fly if you let go of your earthly boundings which aang did by unlocking all the chakras right?
Ответитьi think this was aang's level of mastery by the end of the series:
air = 🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️ 6/5 (legendary master)
water = 🌊🌊🌊🌊💧 4.5/5 (nearly mastered)
fire = ☀️☀️☀️🔥 3.5/5 (adept)
earth = 🪨🪨🪨 3/5 (well skilled)
Understandable, why he didn’t master all the elements he only had a summer to learn all the elements and a train so it’s going to take some time
ОтветитьEarthbending Aang is very underrated. He managed to have multiple rock formations protect him from SOZIN COMET FIRELORD OZAI attaks. One even lasted mutliple blasts. These are quite possibly the most powerful fire attaks out there. And while yes Toph said his skill could use work, she is the most powerful earthbender, so her standards might be a bit higher.
ОтветитьSozins comet flat out proves aang hasn’t mastered the elements. Toph and Zuko mention how Aang still has a lot to fine tune about his bending
ОтветитьAs far of the "only the master of all 4 elements could stop the war" part, isn't the actual line "only the avatar, master of all 4 elements, could stop the war" or similar, where the 4 elements aspect is an explanation for the avatar, as opposed to a qualification to stop the war. I don't think the point of the ATLA was to say only the chosen one could do it, but that leaning on your allies is important makes your stronger. Of course the avatar is the main character and had to defeat ozai, but the team, and other allies was a big part of book 3 especially.
ОтветитьAir- 100%
Water -80%
Earth -60%
Fire -30%
End of the Series
But at end of his life i'm sure he mastered all elements
Korra would naturally be more skilled at waterbending as even though her personality was more similar to a firebender, it was also her native element and she still had a sense of community and love, and still was connected to her culture, much like most of her people.
ОтветитьI believe Aang over all mastered two (air and water) out of four elements. That is still good, he would need more training to truly master all four elements.
ОтветитьI think that he did master fire and earth but not water. Aang learned every fundamental of both earth and fire. At times ha kept up with toph and showed mastery like the cave fight with azula and the fight with ozai. Also if you look at his fire bending it’s the same as everyone else it’s just weaker. Not because he doesn’t have mastery but because ozai is the strongest firebender ever. Same for when he earthbended in the fight with ozai. It looked weaker because of ozais increased power. I think the only element Aang didn’t master or show mastery over was water.
ОтветитьThis is very critical though. Aang is definitely skilled enough in al elements but just unable to beat the best benders of the specific element. He learned it all under one summer while it is supposed to take an avatar at least 10 years to master, def more than impressive
Ответитьat the end of tla he had air and water mastered, was extremely proficient in earth and above average in fire. i’d say he had them all mastered within 2 years after the show ended
ОтветитьI always believed Ang masted earth. Only because Toph says once you can see with your feet you'll be a master like me. In the fight with Ozai he uses this to finally pin Ozai down.
ОтветитьAll other avatars: You are on this council. But we do not grant you the rank of master.
Aang: what?
If he could do that by 12/13 in his 20 he was the ultimate master
ОтветитьWhen you judge his feats he’s going up against Azula a prodigy and has blue fire… and also Ozai who’s stated to be the strongest fire bender ever… in raw strength…
Also some of his feats vs these characters Aang is not trying to kill them or even harm them he’s more or less jus playing defense the entire time…
In his fight vs Ozai at the very end….
Aang comes out of the avatar state by his own free will… doesn’t kill Ozai turns his back to him but uses seismic sense to dodge and then use earth bending to lock Ozai in place before he took away his bending….
Aang in his base state was doing Earthbending feats equivalent to toph's. She most likely said his earthbending needed work due to her comparing it to her own and looking at it at too high of a level. Each event in his fight with Ozai displaying his bending was a late reaction he couldn't properly reinforce all his bending. He learned firebending late and most definitely showed feats contending with Ozai's but ozai is a lifelong firebender amped by the comet and aang just learned it. If he didn't master EVERYTHING at the end of the series then he definitely had to have mastered it all early on in the novels not too long after the events of the series end
ОтветитьI actually disagree with the assessment of his earth bending. Yes his defenses broke against Azula. But . . . that's AZULA. Most earth benders would collapse under Azula's fire bending. Do you think Lin or SuYin Beifong could do better?
And using Ozai's comet enhanced fire bending as an anti-feat for Aang is just unfair. Like Toph could do any better in that situation.
The avator state is a defense mechanism designed to impower you with all the past avators
Tell that to korra 😂😂😂 ,who looked like she always fihhting alone 😂😂😂😂
To be honest I’ve never being able to understand how Korra mastered the elements and could still fail in the Avatar state. Was it that her connection to her past were weak or she wasn’t good enough seeing want Roku did after mastering all the elements there’s no comparison not even close to what Aang did without being a master bender
