Skoda Kodiaq Laurin&Klement 2022 FL - 7-Seater SUV (ENG) - Test Drive and Review

The Kodiaq stands out in its class and, in my country, enjoys a privileged status as the only European compact 7-seater SUV that ticks all the boxes - price-performance, power and driving dynamics, space, interior quality and NVH, and most importantly for Asia, servicing costs and reliability.
Sigh, I should have gotten one when it was still "cheap".
(Cheap is relative for me, because I live in the most expensive car market in the world. Guess where.)

cheers for no longer bashing the Kodiaq. It's a nice car (as long as you don't need more than five seats) and a pleasure to drive (I do since early 2018) and I would buy one again. There are lots of duller looking cars on market and only few (if at all) with better value for money.

38 mpg from a 2.0l Diesel is a joke.
I get 36 mpg from my 1.3l Tce and I drive it like a stole it !

Prefer the Seat Tarraco. Lower, same space inside and the 190 4 drive shifts pretty quick. Couldn’t buy a 150bhp, better off buying a 1 year old 190 bop.

Should Skodiaq be ready to stand the ground in a big fight with Bigfootster in the near future? ( I know the near future seems to be far away nowadays, but I had to ask)

Apart from the Hyundai Tuscon and RAV4 it has no competition , and beats both of them

Did you put the DSG shifter Down in S when you did the acceleration test? It changes the timing of the gear changes.

It really does not have many competitors. Very put together all around. But of course we'll expect one is on pricy side. Perfect review like always 👍👍👍

For the consumption in the display, there should be the scroll wheel or something that you press (that's what i have to do on my mk4 Leon)

marek just saw that you didnt opt to pay for the extra large cupholders in the back... come on its only 10 eur... less than what would cost you for an isofix on front seat...haha

The Kodiaq is a fine family car, but definitely 5+2 seats and not a true 7 seater. A relative of mine had to trade in theirs as they found it simply didn't have enough space when they had another child. Still, they found it very practical and didn't have any issues with it.

Here in Ireland the Kodiaq is only available new in 7 seater only, the 5 seater is no longer brought into the country

What am I so entertained by you testing out the third row? LOL. Surprisingly I really like my kid's friends. Darn. No third row riding for them. We don't get Skoda here in Canada but it seems like a smart alternative to VW or Audi if you aren't interested in paying the extra bucks. Re their infotainment, I thought I read somewhere Blackberry QNX is now getting involved with VW. They seem to be in every OEM system now.

Nice review, but sells the Kodiaq short. It will be the first car i review soon on my new channel and here in Australia it is a huge amount of car for the money. We only get 4x4 DSG 7 seat models with petrol only engines. A 132kW/320Nm and the RS with a 18okW/370Nm engine. I have had it mistaken for an Audi and a VW here since driving it for review. In my opinion the crisp clean lines and clam shell bonnet have a timeless 21st century design feel. At 4700mm it is the shortest 7 seater on our market, but at 765 litres in 5 seat set up, its load space is class leading. Thanks once more for your review, but please don’t sella good product short. я купил шкоду кодиак. Подвеска стучит!! Коробка очень дёргается! и шумит. Переключает невпопад. Интернета нету.! Навигации онлайн нету!! Ну за рулём удобно. и ВСЁ, больше ничего хорошего

добрый день Вам всем!! Очень НЕ понравился мой новый Кодиак!!!!! Его не в коем случае нельзя сравнивать с Тойота - Лексус. Очень плохая дёрганная КПП. не о какой плавности работы не может быть и речи.!!!!! Каждый день сожалею о покупке

The controls on the driver's door are abominably placed. For a tall driver with a long fore arm it's difficult to reach the window buttons without tilting down the palm. Also, the wing (external) mirrors can be folded with a 3 steps (instead of 1 step in an old Opel Astra H). Also, the handle slot is too close to the hinge, which requires more force to pull/push the door. It should have been place at the center of the handle, or at least further away from the hinge. The silvery inserts on the steering wheel and on the front passenger door happily reflect the sunlight into the driver's eyes. On the analogue instrument cluster there is no indicator of which lights are on or off, the indicators are only on the dial itself, which is difficult to see.

Please get the facts right:
Acoustic / laminated windows are available also pre - facelift.
Just testrode a 2019 L&K model which had it.

Just bought it, it is fabulous, the interior the features ... exquisite. feeling content with the choice i have made :)

I’m sorry but there’s critique and then there’s negative rant based on personal emotions. Your own criticism at start of the video still holds true in this video as well. Only thing I remember from the video is how much you dislike the car and how annoyed you are, not a pleasurable nor informative watch…
