Is there a follow up video on the performance of this camshaft kit?
ОтветитьAre you Fkn crazy.
I cant believe you did this.
You who researches everything and goes by the book-
Just rips the snot out of a brand new motor.
Your too funny sometimes.
Hey there Dads Domain. I have a Cam kit on order, does the kit suggest what settings to use on the Vortex ? Also who did you order the shim kit from? Cant find kit for the L, did you order one for the X, what part number for shim kit TYVM
ОтветитьWhy delete the thermostat?
ОтветитьI have to send my Vortex off to San Diego Powerhouse to get remapped, then they will send it back with the Cam. 48 hp to 58 with map and Cam kit. 👍👍👍
ОтветитьHow does the stock Clutch hold up to the 19 extra ponies. Thinking of doing this to mine, was the Clutch slipping at all? Would you recommend an aftermarket clutch like a Hinson or can I keep it stock?
ОтветитьHi, you had said you were running map 1 or two on the cammed bike? The maps San Diego Powerhouse sent me shows maps 1 to five for stock, 6 to ten for Stage two cam. 6 being best Dyno and 10 best bottom end torque. Just wondering if you getting full power ? Can’t upload maps here to show you.
ОтветитьFinally got my cam to install this weekend, I see the kit comes with new valve guide seals. Wonder why that’s necessary? Any idea? I don’t see that you had any in your kit or replaced yours.
ОтветитьInstalled my Cam today. Was super careful that it was locked in place. Did the same as yours. Got to figure out the trick. Bike did go nuts with the cam. Love it. I had to change all my shims. Toughest part was getting the dam throttle body and tubes out of the way. How the heck you can bolt it down flush and the keepers are not in correct and not much lip on em either . Weird 👍
ОтветитьNew remapped ECU for the cam causing Fan issues, fan is coming on at 120F. the vortex before sent to be remapped the fan came on and off at 205F and of at 200F, same as the stock ECU. This issue causing my battery to slowly drain as fan stays on now. Sent back to company to see why this is. Check your bros bike fan just to be sure it’s good. Got the ECU back, they fixed the Fan issue. All is good now. Next try to get bike on Dyno to confirm HP figure. Great mod 👍
ОтветитьHow did you get the throttle body connection off the head , did you drop the engine forward?
ОтветитьHave you tried the low end map 10 yet? I’m about to try 7,8,9 ignition advance ones also.
ОтветитьWHAT A COUPLE OF DUNCES
ОтветитьThe broken in is a myth
ОтветитьI’m thinking if you were clean shaven, you’d have a pretty big chin.
ОтветитьSucks ruined brand new motor with this kit.
ОтветитьNot sure I understand why you would mess with Honda Reliability unless you can already use 100% of your bike. Which 99% of us can’t.
ОтветитьTheres any vortex ecu can we use on highways?
Ответитьwhat case saver are you using?
ОтветитьWow 19 more horses, this bike as it is comes with more power than most people can handle. Increased horsepower equals shorter engine life. I am amazed with guys that want to squeak every bit of power they can out of an engine, your video is very interesting thanks and job well done.
It’s just money
I was thinking to do the work my self but After seeing you clip I decided to take my bike to San Diego powerhouse and get it done by them, lol
ОтветитьWay easier to shim valve's while you have the head off
ОтветитьIs this kit a Guarantee 19 hp
ОтветитьI thought they claim a 19 hp gain not 11
ОтветитьWas it worth the money ? Or should I do a big bore
ОтветитьI got a vortex from twisted all the paperwork says crf450L or 450rl is it the same as the x I have the x and asked for the x
ОтветитьLooks like I will not be buying this kit.
ОтветитьDid it fix the flame out issues
ОтветитьI’m wondering if you can buy a stock X model cam (lifters if they are different as well) with the vortex and it’ll provide similar hp gains?
ОтветитьThank you for the video though tbh I would never recommend doing that on a brand new bike with warranty on it. I’d just run it stock for the first year or two and just do cosmetic, control and protection mods.
ОтветитьSo did he have to get his vortex re programmed for the new cam ?
ОтветитьDoing all this without riding bike is dumbest things u can do
ОтветитьThis, or a penis pump to complement my 55 gallon drum of ASTRO glide with a Milwaukee 18v transfer pump?? 🤔
ОтветитьI would like to see a dyno run to see if it's actually more hp than a R model, or if it's just a bunch of bull shit like the jazz ever getting out of the first round....
ОтветитьYou should have broken it in first. You're also going to regret not changing that base gasket. When they are torqued down they are squished its going to leak.
ОтветитьDid you do a port on the head
ОтветитьAny updates on this cam swap
ОтветитьForget that!
ОтветитьYou ever going to put out some new videos?
Ответить22,00 km now , 12,000 with the cam. Still running perfect
ОтветитьExcellent video!
ОтветитьDid you ever get it on the dyno
ОтветитьSince it’s been 3 years since this video. How is the bike doing with the cam upgrade? Did you have to rebuild it yet?
ОтветитьWhy would u want to delete the thermostat? What is the benefit?
ОтветитьIs there enough clearance between the valve and piston now?
ОтветитьHow do you like them flex bars? Do they help your hands from going numb from vibration?
ОтветитьWhat headlight is that?
ОтветитьWhere can I get a plastics set for my crf450rl 2022
ОтветитьKinda crazy not do break in before doing motor work imo
ОтветитьHey I just want to leave a little note here for everyone. The cam provided in the kit had to be modified FOR the the 450L. It's a factory Honda CRF450RX camshaft. The bearing shoulders are actually 1mm farther apart then on the stock cam and will not allow you to install the cam cap correctly. I don't believe the issue you were having installing the cam was technically your fault as if the milling is not done correctly it can keep you from getting the bearings in the holder with the rings. The stock cam is also not that shiny from Honda, so I know they've done polishing to it as well.
I learned this the hard way and had the right side bearing fracture and destroy the head and cam. I have since replaced the head and milled camshaft and should have it running again soon. I did not get the kit. I'm doing it with all stock Honda parts (and ECU) and possibly will do a write up of how I did it.
