Gary, use hot soapy water and a soft nylon brush to clean the grips, and there like new and sticky.

I picked up 3 clubs from our local recycling center on Friday, coudn't tell what the irons were as they need restoring but they looked half decent with Project X shafts etc but after cleaning I discovered I picked up 3 irons (6, 7 and 8 iron) from the Callaway Fazr XT set (circ 2011). Our recycling place sells any iron they receive for £2 each! Ok, they get a lot of old discarded stuff that isn't really desirable however now and again you find the odd gem. I will game them tomorrow and add a few other Callaway clubs i have to make up a 5 iron set (9 and PW), in place of my current set to see how I get on with them.

That Yonex set was a good start to a great idea for a series. Interested to see what you pick our for the other sets. I always recommend Wilson Staff and Cleveland for great return on investment for used irons.

Used a Yonex (VXF) driver and 3,5-woods for years. Sold driver and 5-wood after replacing with PXG. Still use Yonex 3-wood but wish I'd kept the 5-wood. Sold PXG fairway woods since as I didn't get on with them (PXG Driver & hybrids great though!)

Cheapest I could find in USA Ebay were £550

I love the irons i am currently gaming, they are Epon af703 that i found 5-AW at the local thrift store for $25, i threw a set of temu grips on them (i have big mechanic hands and play oversize grips) and absolutely love them! Cant beat a set of japanese forged cavity backs for about $65 including grips for a high handicapper like myself!

Still haven’t hit my first custom fit set 2004 Callaway X-18 pro series irons yet. Haven’t hit them in 15 years. Recently had them regripped with WINN Dri TAC LT OVERSIZE grips. They will be my backup set. Just had trigger finger surgery 2 days ago on my left thumb. Will be about 2 months or so before I can hit them.

Some Temu grips will work wonders for those clubs Gaz.😉🤫😂

-2. That’s just crazy. Here in California I think I played a few rounds in the high 50’s and that cold enough for me.

Grips are one of the only thing in golf that’s a decent value for what you are buying. You should always regrip every season and almost always if buy used clubs just factor that into the cost.
