They just don't make things like they used to. But this Mondo stuff is real crap.
ОтветитьCan't people just super glue that back? Feels so overdramatic by everyone.
Ответитьso sad bro
Ответитьthat poster is great but I wish they would have made an English version too.
ОтветитьIf the issue persists use brass rods glued in the two joints inside the stomach, On the bright side well this extra body can be used as an alternate body for weathered custom look if you paint it. As for glue maybe automotive strength glue but that goop stuff is thick so not easy to work with like crazy glue or CA cement and yes crazy glue is just a substance that sticks to things vs CA fuses the plastic it's even used in making plexi glass aquariums at the edge/seams
ОтветитьThe best He-Man ever made. Congratulations!!! Now bring on Battlecat!!!!
Ответитьand now i just watched the ab-crunch part... man, that sucks. That joint is really, REALLY stiff on mine so I'm afraid to push it further.
IMO it's a designflaw to only glue that together there, and not have something actually pegged in.
Really sorry Jay, I felt the pain with you, hopefully you get a replacement soon 😭
ОтветитьThis is why I'm an inbox collector hahaha
ОтветитьI just watched Pixel Dan's review on this again. it looks like that upper body isn't supposed to do an ab-crunch, but only just twist (like at the pelvis).
But to be honest, if you have a joint in that position, you'd think it would be for an ab-crunch.
1 mondo is to expensive as it is 2 for Canada it's even more money and shipping is crazy my opinion if you're going to pay so much money this shouldn't be a quality issue yes he looks great but not when this keeps happening to often yes they are going to replace it but come on look I would rather them take more time to make Shure it's flawless before it gets shipped out and get a quality figure for the money that's why I don't collect it✌️
ОтветитьUgh sorry to see that happen Jay :(
I’ve been super careful with handling mine, I did some photography with it in the outdoors and it held up but I didn’t really move his waist. Being in the UK I paid a huge amount for this, so he is just going to stand still from now on. Not the best situation, but if all the figures have this QC issue then what’s the point of getting a replacement?!
This is what happens when you never skip leg day but ignore ab day.
ОтветитьMondo = inmundo
ОтветитьSeriously? That figure has been under freezing temperatures. You need to put it under hot water, hair dryer and wait a couple of days. And like other comments say: not a big deal, is not broken. Just superglue
ОтветитьI'm really curious how the fixed bodies are different? Did they just re-glue them or place more reinforcement on that inner joint? Being that I like fixing things, I would have taken off that base at the waist since it's only attached by a peg, inserted it back inside the chest cavity so it's aligned correctly and taken a drill bit and created a small hole (as a guide) that leads into the inner post. Then I would take a small but medium length screw and attach the base to that inner post so they have a permanent bond. Take a small piece of electrical tape and wrap it tight around that ball tip of the waist peg so it will have a tighter hold on the base when you connect it back. There you go. Completely fixed and ten times stronger than what the factory fix will likely be. I would also take some matte acrylic sealant and apply a light layer over the chest and joints (possibly the back of the accessories that might give you paint rubs too) so there is a seal between the two surfaces when they touch. That should cut down on scuffing measurably because it doesn't look like the factory put sufficient sealant on the paint work.
ОтветитьGood thing if mondo will take care of that!
ОтветитьAre we sure these are supposed to crunch at the abs? Mine twists there just fine. My waist was fine, too.
ОтветитьAt 1hr 28 min when the “glued pieces” of the abs and connector gave way,
The more I look at it,
I surmise that that piece is made from Roto-casting.
If indeed it is Roto-Casting, then I sense cost saving (in terms of tooling) was considered by the manufacturer.
Else there is no reason for the pieces to be needed to glue together as an injected piece will be “whole”
Only Rotocast needs the pieces to be hollow.
Just my 2 cents.
Best epic fail video I have seen in months! Hahahahaha!
ОтветитьAh bummer!!!! Sorry your He-Man had the issue brother. I feel your pain - my replacement is in the mail. Not to be that guy, but I really hope they are checking the replacements well. It will be incredibly aggravating if the replacements have issues. Deep breaths and fingers crossed.
ОтветитьWhat a piece of junk 🤣
ОтветитьI mean if you yank twist crunch any toy is gona break. Stick a glob of putting on it and stick it back on
ОтветитьMine didn't un-glue like yours (yet) but I couldn't turn the waist on mine at all without it popping out of joint. I could literally only turn his waist this far |---| before it would pop. Look on the bright side. You could re-glue yours and it'll be fine plus you'll get the replacement body. Inconvenience aside I really like it.
ОтветитьSorry to see that happen to you Jay. I’m wondering if the rush to get this out before the holidays is due to them wanting to get new product into people’s hands before the upcoming preorders
ОтветитьI have 6 mondo figures and all have been great. I support this company over Hasbro. This seems figure specific. Sucks for mondo but otherwise I am switching from a large 6” Hasbro figure collection to a smaller collection of mondo figures.
And at $40 to $60 for legends in Canada they have little value for me anymore. Missed the magneto release so now I am behind on the x-men.
I feel your pain! Same thing happened to me. Most expensive figure I've bought then this happens. Makes me question my thought process on buying these toys
ОтветитьIt's ridiculous that this happened. But to turn lemons into lemonade maybe you could glue wires sticking out of that torso, paint it blue if you want and it'll be a busted Faker bot that can decorate the floor of your display at least.
ОтветитьMine cleared UK customs on 3 January, but still hasn't arrived yet
ОтветитьSorry to see this, Jay. It looks like a design flaw: There doesn't seem to be enough overlap where the two pieces of the figure are glued together. Let's hope Mondo learns from this
ОтветитьWas this the replacement body that broke or the first body?
None of the other MONDO MOTU have that raised lip on the pelvis. That is pushing the torso up when it is twisted. All the previous releases are just a straight cut. No raised lip at the belt.
Jay, did you get your replacement he-man body?
ОтветитьOof. Sorry Jay. Great video though.
