Thank you so much for this video! I am 41 and have always had thin fine hair and have never learned to style it properly or take care of it. Decided this year to learn and start actually taking time for my hair. I took notes on this video and absolutely love your authenticity and that you totally understand and get it with thin hair tribulations :-) I will be ordering a new comb today! One question, I love the layers that you have in your hair. Hair newbie here: what do you call those layers? Thanks!
ОтветитьMost shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and deodorant have these in them. The only one so far is Calia, they seem to only display some ingredients so you cant see the backbone of the ingredients. For us thin and fine hair warriors we can use beer and/or rosemary tea. I haven't tried rice water but love that it is homemade recipe.
ОтветитьYou Look good with your thin hair. Its perfect like it is naturally:)
Ответить😢I've had thin fine hair all my life (now almost 84)! Am currently having pixie style cuts to avoid having hair in my eyes and face; do not now do permanents, but am considering one for volume - should I try one out?
ОтветитьA t-shirt and your hair aren't the same thing. Your hair grows back and rejuvenates, cloth does not.
ОтветитьDry shampoo is usually chemicals, alcohol, petroleum, talc. I avoid them as much as possible.
ОтветитьI have super fine hair, but I have a TON of it. My hair gets in so many knots 😭
ОтветитьMy hair is like yours. One thing people don’t think about with their hair is nutrition. Make sure you eat a well balanced diet. This will help your hair be a bit more in quantity and you can keep it in better quality with good nutrition.
ОтветитьCould you show us how you trim your hair?? Thanks so much!!
ОтветитьI don't use conditioner any more, I make gloves-tea and put it in spray, just spray it after washing your hair, you will be amazed, how good it is for yr hair😅
ОтветитьNot touching the hair so often can also help with its health and have it less oily.
ОтветитьGreat tips. I would add to use a clarifying shampoo maybe fornightly, especially if you have hard water. Gets rid of that pesky build up. Touching your hair a lot also adds oils etc from your hands.
ОтветитьAGREED on limiting products in fine thin hair. I was also born with this hair type. My products for different styles, a root lifter, a texturizer or a beach texture spray if I want to air dry, no heat. A powder root lifter works well. They sell with color for those pesky root touchups. Gray hair is another FINE mess. I use a hair topper, people think I'm younger than my age & usually remark, your hair looks great. WORK it GIRLS!
ОтветитьMy husband calls me bach when get up after sleeping on my wet hair. I look like an 18th century musican. Super cute. 😂
ОтветитьWhat hairbrush do you use? All hairbrushes hurt my scalp😢
ОтветитьThank you! You are beautiful and seem beautiful on the inside too - clearly intelligent, charismatic, caring, articulate and more! Thank you for trying to help others with your journey. Love from a (truly) thin fine haired sister 💋
Ответитьsulphate free is not good for oily scalp tho?
ОтветитьI absolutely love this video! I’ve been so insecure about my hair for years! But this really helps me feel more in control of my hair!
ОтветитьAdditional tips: Add collagen peptides to your coffee every morning (decaf is better; caffeine affects absorption), plus take multivitamins and omega-3 supplements. Reduce stress - yoga, self-care and removing external toxic people or situations. Change your birth control, if possible, to non-hormonal options. Birth control eats up your B vitamins and can cause hair loss and thinning. Last, find a hairdresser who listens! So many hairdressers chop off all my progress because thin hair, well, looks thin. :) Amanda your hair looks beautiful in the video. Thank you for posting.
ОтветитьIt's interesting that you mentioned the pandemic and how it changed your view on your hair. It changed mine too: I have super thin hair, similar to yours. Before pandemic I washed it every other day. Now I was it once a week, sometimes twice, but very seldom. My hair is able now to sustain 2-3 days of wearing it down and another 4 wearing it up in different up-do's. It does not get greasy anymore, only its plasticity looks different, not like after being just washed. But I am happy with this change, the hair looks healthier and stopped being of extremely high maintenance
ОтветитьIf you want your hair to look thicker, don’t cut wispy layers. It makes ends look thinner.
ОтветитьHow do you sleep with your hair
ОтветитьThank you for your video. I'm sorry I didn't find this 3 years ago.
ОтветитьHenna colour thickens my thin hair. There are many colour options.
ОтветитьThere are a lot of downsides to thin hair, but it IS really soft to touch. It feels so nice on the fingers. We should encourage each other to enjoy how it feels.
ОтветитьYou look gorgeous, though, with your hair like it is. It's so pretty. It suits you - you totally pull it off.
That said, I hear you... I have SUPER straight hair, like a paintbrush!
I tried OUAI for Fine Hair and it changed my hair completely! Works wonders!
ОтветитьAmanda, you are very pretty. Your eyes are so feminine and sweet. I agree, just getting the right style makes a difference for fine hair.
ОтветитьI know this is an old video, but this video just made me feel so much less alone! I know it’s a silly thing to be so superficial about hair but it’s so hard to as someone with fine thin hair. I usually never see anyone else with my hair. Thanks for the tips, and just know this made me feel so much more confident!!!❤
ОтветитьI’m so glad I found this video
ОтветитьWithout doubt the best, most informative, video I have come across. For me, menopause is bringing yet more challenges with fine hair now shedding a lot. But focusing more on hair/scalp health rather than worrying about style. What a lovely genuine presenter. Thanks for the video. 💖
ОтветитьI have the same hair like you but being insecure about it , nope
ОтветитьI love this video! Also, I just clicked on a linked video that's very recent and your hair is really long and thick-looking now. Can you share what worked, if you don't mind? Your hair is lovely in this video, but the way it is now is different. Thanks in advance, and I love your other videos too now--just discovered you!
ОтветитьThanks for the tips! I use organic aloe with Rosemary, Lavender and Cedarwood essential oil and add it to my hair every night and wash out in the morning, but it has thickened my hair. I also can't do longer hair as it looks super thin, so I keep it shorter which helps it look thicker 😊 I do silk as well.
ОтветитьI have never related to a video more! Having thin hair is a struggle like no other. I’ve spent so much money on expensive hair care and I am shocked to say that the best shampoo/ conditioner I’ve found is the sulfate free line from tresemme. I’ve tried Redken, Aveda, Olaplex, Monat, Joico, Pureology & even more😂 and nothing compares to tresemme.
ОтветитьOn low dose chemo for my lupus! I’ve so far lost 60% of it. I’m so depressed… it’s harder than the pain of lupus
ОтветитьI bought a silk pillowcase; a lovely blue one, feels amazing but it's so cold to the touch. So I don't like sleeping on it unless it's super hot. 🤔
ОтветитьI have to condition my whole head..if I don't I'll never get through it after shampooing..it's like a birds nest.
ОтветитьI appreciate this video so much. It’s hard to explain to ppl (like my sister) with luscious locks how emotional having thin hair can be. Since high school, stress induces telogen effluvium (sp?) can spur my sudden hair loss . It comes back but takes time and the hair falling out is traumatic.seeing the ponytail get thinner and thinner is hard . I’ve tried just about every product (and spent an inordinate amount of money) trying to find the best ways to make hair look thicker. I am going to compile a list of my favorites.
ОтветитьIs so refreshing to hear a girl with thin hair talking about. Im a girl with fine curly hair and is have been a problem for me since i was young. I can't live without clip in hair extensions.
ОтветитьDr Eric Berg has videos on. How to thicken your hair shaft. One tablespoon of Knox gelatin in your coffee everyday and several times a day take 1000mg NAC after your coffee. It’ll keep your hair from getting gray too. Also he says take one tablespoon of Nutritional Yeast three times a day it feeds your body B vitamins and your hair loves B vitamins 😊
ОтветитьThank you! I’m so tired of searching “things to do with thin hair” and then being shown pictures of women with a thick bouncy ponytail. “Do one pony underneath to add bounce to the one above” they say. They have no idea!! I don’t have enough hair for one pony, nevermind two!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU! This was just what I was looking for! Great advice!
ОтветитьI used dry shampoo on my hair almost every day for the past 5 years and it actually made my hair fall out. I was actually blaming everything else I used for my hair thinning, but it turned out the dry shampoo caused it. I stopped 6 months ago and it already looks and feels thicker and healthier. So be careful with it. :/
ОтветитьYou’re pretty with your hair just like you are but I have the same hair situation and understand how you feel
ОтветитьThis video made me cry ❤ I appreciate your sincerity and it's nice to hear someone with the same struggles
Stupid that's a struggle right. Who gives a crap how thick our hair is
Curly yes, amazing no. It is growing out from losing half of it during the pandemic. The top is thick and the bottom is thin. It is shoulder length and frizz-city. If I don’t use a ton of conditioner, I can’t do anything wear it down. I have just relented to washing at night and wetting it in the morning. It will grow out eventually, but it takes a really long time.
ОтветитьYou’re awesome! I have the same hair as you but black so I have to color my grays …
And yes I use only silk pillow case & a silk crunchy
You look beautiful & you gave us so much great tips here :)
