Would be great to have a demo of the YJM100, limited version but a great amp in my opinion ! Your channel is heaven on earth !
Cheers !
Only Johan can make a video with no dislikes!
ОтветитьIt’s a joy watching your videos. Your playing is awesome and really shows how those vintage Marshall amps sound. Out of curiosity, which guitar cables do you like to use with those amps? Thanks. Cheers!
ОтветитьTSL
ОтветитьIt'd be cool to see you demo a Marshall mode 4 MF350 or the Slash signature head, Marshall AFD100
ОтветитьMode4 cabs !
ОтветитьWhich budget Marshall amplifier(s) would be the best for Hendrix tones.
ОтветитьAfter watching this video I want to see again ALL the reviews that u did! So, I'll dedicate the entire weekend to watch them all. Johan, you're a true genius! You have such a passion for music, sound, amps, cool sounds and all that stuff. Thank you for all your videos, pls KEEP DOING THEM. WE NEED IT
greetings from Argentina :)
How were you able to access all these vintage amps and guitars over the years? I'm always wondering when I watch!
ОтветитьTest the Marshall Code amps and tell what you think if its a good practice amp, im think it would save on pedals and ease of juse when you can mod evry effekt
ОтветитьWould like to see a Class 5 demo. I appreciate this channel alot. Before this channel I didn't even know what a greenback was. Its my favorite sounding speaker now.
ОтветитьI'd like to see a comparison between the JCM 2000 DSL and TSL because the TSL is always criticized. Also a comparison of the 2000 DSL and the new Asian ones. I'm also surprised you haven't done more on the Origin amps. Love all your videos. Thanks for doing what you do!
ОтветитьI love your channel Johan! I would love to see one or more clips where you take us through dialing in classic tones with different classic amp/guitar combinations.
ОтветитьJohan ''you can't buy experience'' what a great real Marshall history for anyone...think Marshall should team up with you and release an 'JSM 6220' amp
ОтветитьTriple super lead
ОтветитьJohan you are a true tone historian! Love your channel and style! Rock on brother!
ОтветитьYou still haven't played some of the signature Marshall amps (except for Joe Satriani's amp), but of course some of them are hard to get (Like the Marshall slash jubilee, the Zakk Wylde, and YJM 100, because they made like a couple of hundred of them or so)
ОтветитьHi Johan. I've asked this before, but I'll ask again :). If you can find one, would love to hear your thoughts and guitar sounds regarding the 200 watt Marshall 2000 amplifier that came out ~ 1981.
ОтветитьJohan, my bank account hates you, but I really appreciate all the work you've done to catelog all the various Marshall's and Celestion speakers. I recently started modding old hifi amps into guitar amps and replicated the 2203/2204 preamp circuit recently. I needed a Marshall cab to go with it so I did a deep dive into your comparisons. Invaluable. Today I picked up a 70's 1982a cabinet with G12H30 55Hz blackbacks. They sound simply amazing. You also turned me on to the Squier Affinity Telecasters. Fantastic guitars. I say make the videos that make you happy. We'll watch them because you make great music with great tones, and they're fun! All the best to you
ОтветитьMarshall Mode 4!
ОтветитьYour channel is one of the best!
ОтветитьWould be nice to get your hands on AFD100. I really dig your videos. Keep it and good luck.
ОтветитьHey Johan, I'd love to see a comparison between a vintage greenback and a brand new G12M-25 greenback, or maybe even a G12M Heritage. I'm interested if you can get a vintage sound with new gear. Thanks.
Ответить1968 plexi is my favorite
ОтветитьA Marshall Artiste 100W Head would be interesting
ОтветитьSei il numero uno
ОтветитьJohan, what cords do you use between the cabinet and the amplifier, I use Paul dime
ОтветитьIt would be cool to see a video comparing more speaker cabs, for example maybe hook up a 50 JMP to a 1960 cab, the more affordable MX series that came out a few years ago and maybe a MG 4x12 to see how big a difference that makes and also shows the difference in quality as you go from cheaper cabs to the more expensive cabs, there are other cabs you could include too like the MA cabs made for the MA amps, I just named a couple to give a rough idea about the comparison idea, maybe take a cheaper cab and swap the speakers to ones found in the better cabs to see how much of the tone comes from the speakers and how much comes from the actual construction and materials used to make the cabs, just a couple idea's to bounce around, thanks again Johan!
ОтветитьYou forgot the most rock & roll amp of all time: the Marshall Club & Country. Just kidding.
ОтветитьI can’t wait to hear the solid state stuff from the 70's.
ОтветитьHey Johan,
First of all keep up the good work, great vids. Second, can you make a guide like this on greenbacks? I have some requests about some greenback type speakers I believe you haven't compared so far (correct me if I'm wrong). For example, G12M pulsonic vs G12M Heritage reissue. I believe you did compare the 'normal' reissue to Pulsonic greenbacks, but not Heritage G12M to Pulsonic G12M (again correct me if I"m wrong). Also what about comparing Greenback type speakers from other brands such as Weber, WGS and so forth. It would be interesting to find which modern produced speaker comes closest to the old pulsonic sound!
And what about a direct comparison between the g10f-15 vs g10 greenback vs old 10 inch greenbacks?
Also many of the comparisons you did, you did with Gibson guitars. My favorite sound is Strat over Classic Marshall + Greenback. Strat sound has different interaction with amp and speakers imo. For example. G12H greenbacks sound good with SG, but less good with strat IMO. For strat (with or without humbucker) G12M sounds better IMO, so it might be valuable to redo certain comparisons that you only did with SG, but this time with strat (with both single coils and humbucker).
Cheers and keep up the good stuff! ~ Karst & EXP from Amsterdam / The Netherlands
Thanks for all your great content Johan ! . I would like to see you play a Marshall DSL 40c and definitely more of that 50w MV JMP 2204 please ! 😋. Perhaps with some simple pedles like boosts or overdrives. But more than that , I would love to know more about how you make your videos . How you record your sound, what mics, mixing software/video software , cameras ect . I love the vintage look and colours of your videos that are intertwined with your clips.
ОтветитьAstoria Classic, Custom and Dual, please
Ответитьwho give those negative votes all the time.... I feel not bad emotions but I would love to introduce themselves.... Great video Johan showing part of the goldmine called Segeborn channel
ОтветитьForgot mode four
ОтветитьOlá! Eu sempre acompanho seus vídeo, eu queria saber de vc se vc conhece esse marshall code 100? Me responda em português!
ОтветитьHey Mr. Johan love the channel wondering if you could give me a definitive answer on whether I will destroy a Beyer M160 if I put it on the grill of a cranked jcm800 50 watt thru a 4x12? Do I need to protect from air blasts? seems like you get away with it but I don’t know if I have your powers thanks cheers xx
ОтветитьThanks for this. Johan, your vids are ace. Curious if Marshall were to build you a signature amp; what specs you'd want to see?
ОтветитьQuestion!!!??? Were Marshall amps made, so that you would play them?
Or Were you born so that Marshall amps would be played by you?
Handwired series, how good are they really? 1962 Bluesbreaker, 2245T, 1974x etc, handwired cab (...?)
ОтветитьJohan, Please review Marshall Studio Fifteen combo from the nineties. Thanks!
ОтветитьI found very interesting thing experimenting with preamp tubes !
Every 12ax7 brand vintage thru new production had its own EQ and vibe as some rare 12ax7 tubes flavor the tone marvelously lively to silky highs and smokey vibes like the RCA black plate 12ac7 tube do pushed with gain a little !
I would luv to retube Johns Marshall head , to start I would try in V1 socket Tungsram 12ax7 tube I nick named Never a Bad Note tube with the sweetest highs of any tube ever made in history !
But the phase inverter must be a Sovtek 12ax7 LPS tube as they do not distort with your gain high and breaking up so chords still work for blues ect:
Other phase inverters do not sound as good is what my ears told me !
The highest gain 12ax7 are Telefunken and Yugo 12ax7 double getter support tube which have chrome numbered tag on the getter support in the tube !
The Yugo is the better sounding of those 2 and the bottom end is big and the highs powerful but good sounding !
Heavy breakup is what this Yugo 12ax7 does but a little less gain and blues is unreal chords to leads !
Honor goes to the New Sensor Tungsol 12ax7 tube , these sound great but also can break up properly for guitar and that's what its about !
You will not succeed with tone if you put all high gain 12ax7 tubes in your preamp ever !
I found out the hardway by wasting 1 month on my retubing my Rebel 30 as I kept hearing the highs sound like a smearing of the highs and I could not hear each chorded note as before cranked up with some gain ?
Once I changed the 12ax7 in the FX loop it was fixed , I took out a high gain tube and used a jj 12ax7s tube , so I changed the other FX loop tube too and better yet was the tone and breakup more useful and more complex musically !
One tube can make other tube distort and they all must work together for the harmonics to be in the sound your seeking !
You're amazing Johan. Thanks for sharing these treasures with us!
Ответитьi really want to see u testing the new MG series solidsate amp head 100w, its pretty cheap aswell
ОтветитьHi Johan you mentioned the lowly MA ...I know they get knocked a lot and net even supposed to keep up with the classics but would love to hear if you could get a decent sound from a head into a cab. One of my amps is the MA100 and i don't think it's too hideous when treated right.
Great channel and vids. Thanks.
Soon we're gonna need ISBN numbers like the library of congress to wade through the vast compendium of Segeborn videos. What an anthology. Thanks Johann.
