Listen to the explosive speech that was delivered by the Malian Deputy Prime Minister Colonel Abdoulaye Maïga, at the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York on the Saturday of September 28th 2024, on behalf of the transitional President Colonel Assimi Goita.
It's a relatively lengthy but moving speech in which the Deputy Prime Minister denounced the open support of destabilizers of Mali and Sahel terror groups by foreign powers like Ukraine, called on the current Algerian authorities to seriously rethink the path they are taking and avoid cluelessly undermining the Malian military in its war against terrorists in Northern Mali, and as well advocated for a lasting ceasefire and a two-state solution to the current Israel-Palestine crisis.
He also expressed in the speech his surprise at the fierce hostility by ECOWAS towards Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, but vowed that the Alliance of Sahel States is here to stay, and thus commended the Russian Federation, China, Turkey, Iran and many other allies of Mali for their cooperation with the Sahel States Confederation.
