Nice to know Jack Baker wasn't really such a bad dude.

This scene in the game made me tear up. Literally, it was because the Bakers were being saintly human beings and saved who they thought was an innocent girl, they became infected and turned into violent monsters. Even in death, Jack Baker empathized with Evelyn’s evil and only wanted his family saved.

This was a true example of good people caught in the cross fire of evil. So, so sad.

The bakers (save lucas) are resident evil’s embodiment of “no good deed goes unpunished”

The fact the jack baker had a chance of not infected by just lock his wife in the bathroom

The fact is both villain of res 7 and res 8 are still the victims ,the real pure evilest villain is the umbrella corporation itself

The fate of the Baker Family just shows that good intentions can sometimes lead to bad outcomes. They were all victims, save for Lucas, who was already a homicidal nutcase, but Eveline enabled him even further with her "gift".

It's sad when you realize the great majority of enemies you fight in the Resident Evil series are really just victims who can no longer control their actions.

I don't understand how was Jack talkin to him? Was it a hallucination? Was Jack able to talk to him while he was stuck in the moldy stuff cause he was also one with the mold?

You know you’ve made a great character when he can legitimately look like a psychopath and a good family man just with different dialogue.

This genuinely makes me sad. Jack isn't the monster everyone thinks he is. He is a good man trapped inside his own body. A spectator forced to watch a real monster commit atrocities in his name. It's heartbreaking.

The "Connections" set him free and can use Evelyn's mold power for free

I wish there was a way to save them like you know save them in a way that doesn't need to kill them they were good people(except for lucas)

So after playing Village, is this not a hallucination or a ghost of Jack but his consciousness in the megamycete? and Ethan can see because he's also infected by the mold. And all fungi is interconnected with mycelium

It’s always sad seeing the nicer part of a person we thought was pure evil. I know they were never evil but they were forced into that situation just by trying to be good people. They had so much property and so much land, but they lost it all trying to be good people and by helping a little girl. The Bakers didn’t deserve this fate, it just so happened by misfortune.

A man that was just trying to do the right thing and unknowingly brought something into his home that warped his family. Honestly this scene coupled with the DLC prior of how you could see everything fall apart from Zoe's perspective makes it even more heartbreaking. You see first hand how these nice, warm people are transformed into monsters.

Whats funny is that....if Evie hadn't infected them....they would have been the family she wanted so badly :(

I finally had a sigh of relief meeting.The real jack and got that closure that he wasn't always a sadistic killer I honestly.

I think it's safe to say when we all saw the real Jack.We cried and felt so bad for him and his family.His wife and daughter not his son

Honestly the first time I played this game I honestly thought Jack Baker and his whole family were born to be killers. (Except for Lucas, I guess Jack & Marguerite were never aware on how evil their son was)

he then proceeded to kidnap his daughter and box his bug eating brother

After that Rose DLC from Re Village, I think it now makes sense that the characters died in the whole RE aren't actually dead. This sense makes sense now. Jack isn't entirely dead and he can witness all the hoolabaloos that happened.

Jack is a good guy. In the DLC, he saved Mia and Evangeline. Even Marguerite tried to help them and broke the control of the mold to help Zoe escape

Aftewr realizing that Ethan already died at the beginning of RE7, it makes more sense who he was able to speak to Jack in this cutscene, so far all Mold characters have like a shared mind in some non-existing place where they can talk to each other even to dead ones. As we saw in RE8 and "Shadow of Rose".

I still don't understand one thing, is Ethan's mold self or soul self still alive in that place alongside others? Or what?!

Imagine playing RE7 for the first time and you take out Marguerite and Jack for good because of the monsters they became, then you see this scene and realize that they were nothing more than victims of an experiment gone rogue and they just wanted their suffering to end.

this would have been so much better and so much more powerful if it had been delivered by jack during a mano a mano. maybe both as a cry for help or....as a ruse. in the middle of those fights: "ethan stop! no! im just an old man I don't mean to do nuthin to ya mah boah! we're good people! she got us! she got us good! save mah famlee EEEETHAAAN COME TO DADDEEEEEE!!!!!!"
