Over Late August and the first half of September I've caught some MEGA notch ups from some epic heavy freight trains including 934 lead by 3 DXs with YL Ballast Wagkns and a long rake of new wagons from the Hillside Workshops, DXC's hauling an 1100 tonne Work Train, DC's 4323 & 4559 hard at work dragging the Taieri Shunt Y22O, DFB's hauling up to 1700 tonnes, the beginning of train 932 for the season with 2 DXCs thundering across the Clutha River and then a few days later a very shiny 5097 leads the train with 5448 powering away from a restriction!! we also see DFT 7226 getting a good workout hauling just shy of 1500 tonnes with a dead DFB in tow and then to finish it off an incredible triple headed 962 thrashes it on the climb above Sawyers Bay with 2 DXCs doing the work and a dead DC 4323! this video features loads of good grunt from the 3 types of KiwiRail Mainline Locomotives running in and out of Dunedin as of today so turn them speakers up!
