There was one legal protest lead by then deceased president Ong Teng Cheong when he was in NTUC . In 1986 Ong also sanctioned a strike in the shipping industry.
ОтветитьAm i the only one to see him more as Mohd Tay?
ОтветитьThe problem the government is pro-employer because MOM would not want to scare investors away.
ОтветитьNTUC is like the 中华全国总工会 in China. Very helpful and effective for the government tom maintain order and security!
ОтветитьIn Australian we say yeah, naaah.
ОтветитьHigh court judge from ruling party ?
ОтветитьStrikes??? 123 come all chow 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьNumb question even to ask.. Which countries allow strike...
ОтветитьNTUC.....is that not part of govt? I opined it is no longer a workers " Union " but an arm for the govt
ОтветитьNo,I don't believe or trust the Labour law in Singapore. I was once based with a Humanitarian Organisation ( H.O.ME) whereby 4 PRC were jailed for creating a strike with the bus services, in retaliation against the differences with salary between drivers from Malaysia and China. No,I don't trust the labour law in Singapore, periodly!!
ОтветитьIt Cost To Go to Court… let alone our Courts are beholden to Government…
Ответитьthis guy also MP?
ОтветитьThis guy can ariticulate better than some of the politicians in Singapore.. He should consider running..
ОтветитьYou have to make an application to go on strike.
ОтветитьOh suck it up la. There were so many tech companies impacted why does Lazada get a special mention. Be grateful they gave you a job all those years paying better than an SME. Other than the severance package being slightly better, theres no need for such an uproar. Stripe, Meta, Google, Microsoft, many crypto companies all did rounds of layoff
ОтветитьUnion is completely useless in helping workers. Why join?
ОтветитьWearing a mask,.. don't see helping on the local.
ОтветитьI was retrench about 8 years ago with no benefit, went to MOM and was asked” did ur contract mention any retrenchment benefit”, union, mom, absolute useless
ОтветитьWell..I really want to see UNION does its job..really does it job. And not just for blue colar.
Ответить🙏 That's why we must have Good Labour Laws & Protect Them to make sure employees are treated well & accordingly to these Good Labour Laws , as many companies prefer to abused & exploit their KPI to focus on Profits , neglecting many humane treatment to their employees' welfare ... It's even more heartless if the retrenchments came from companies exploiting contractual workers that some are forced to run 996 schedules that only benefits their employers! ( 996 = Working 9am to 9pm / 6 Days a Week , normally found operating in China! ) ... No wonder their products are of lower quality & their materials used wouldn't last for long! We shouldn't encouraged that kind of industrial manufacturing abuses & exploitation in Singapore , as Made in Singapore = Safe , Good Quality & Trusted! 🙏🕯🌏
ОтветитьMoM is a govt body though. And govt bodies then to favour corporations better than workers.
ОтветитьWe must be pro business ! 🤣🤣
ОтветитьLet me challenge you all see if any of you can debunk me:
1. Retrenchment is GOOD in that the rest remaining get to keep their job.
2. Retrenchment is GOOD in that if not, a company may collapse and All in it will lose jobs.
3. Retrenchment is GOOD in that workers get to be Self Employed as food delivery cyclists or even be a Boss. 🎉
We have NTUC and TAFEP or even FiDrec, which helps out victims who being abused a lot. Singapore is so beautiful. Even being a victim, we are protected. We do no need to use raid or strike to show we are victims. ❤
ОтветитьStrikes and protests is allowed in singapore only if approved by the government
ОтветитьLazada should pay up. They are rich enough to do so.
ОтветитьPlease lah, PAP mom will never allow protest lah . if protest happened PAP will lose support from all these companies
ОтветитьLet’s be frank. It’s not allowed.
Ответить
