People are jumping ahead during the ongoing firefighting with criticisms all over the place. Forest Service and other agencies that fight fires always have what is called “an after action review”. This is when they will look at everything that went wrong or right and how to do it BETTER next incident. They learn from and correct problem areas, and adjust for methods that were successful. So please wait - after the fires are out there will be plenty of time for analyzing them.

There is conditional post disaster relief for example, towns that are regularly flooded along the Mississippi. But the immediate aid should not be conditional. I would like to hear about a plan to decrease deadwood, increase sparse groundcover, or some plan that will make a major difference. This same old song IS ridiculous.
