Fantastic centre helm steering fantastic. Thank you to these yacht designers. Great yachts have one steering wheel, a good yacht, poor design may have two..completly overlooking what sailing is all about.

this gives soo much more space than the counterparts which I lovee

I like this, but ill take the 3 cabin version of sunsail 38 over this, it has a proper dedicated shower, rather than a wet head, a third full sized cabin option.

These boats don't even come close to a Spirit Yacht sailboat. The real king of sailboats would be a replica Bristol or Falmouth channel pilot cutter sailboat with modern rigging. Who voted these the best sailboat. We call these sailboats bleach bottles.

I wish boat makers would stop using the dual rudder. It makes sense if your racing but on a cruising boat it's just more equipment to maintain and worry about.

i hope your clients don't ask you about the keel, the bow type, the rigging... the things that really matter when crossing an ocean. Otherwise that's just an expensive toy to drunk sail on for rich people.

I've checked out the 40C a few months ago, there's a Demo-Boat in my local harbor. The centralized concept is very controversial/polarising , imo. Either you really like it or it puts you off completely and instantly. In general i think HR has been very innovative with their monohull designs, but it's a big mistake to pretty much completely ignore implementation of solar panels into the design process. Sure you can upgrade or DIY it, but especially with the 40C it would completely change the appearance and clash with its design-use-advantages. Apart from that, the C layout gives you a bit of a (not taking into account the technical "negation" from its elevated height) feeling of additional safety. In beautiful weather and good conditions the 40C will likely make you feel very comfortable and provide great accomodation. In bad weather or Gale-force situations it might make you feel rather terrified. Personally i'm in two minds about it, the size is perfect for liveaboard flexibility, layout has its advantages, allows for one-hand sailing and a beautiful appearance overall. But it's a lot of the smaller things that put me off. That's my personal impression of the 40C

Don’t like helm position re mainsheet track position/ mainsheet re gybe/ risk of uncontrolled gybe.

The cockpit looks tight to get around, with no helm protection in rain or heavy weather.

I love sailing but it’s no fun when you’re wet and cold
