I just gave my friend this book to read a few days ago. It truly is a great Superman story as well as just a great story.
ОтветитьGreat recommendation! I also recommend All Star Superman as well. I really enjoyed that story quite a bit.
BTW, I'd still really like to hear your thoughts on Kingdom Come. I know I mentioned it before.
Superman For All Seasons. I bought this one on your recommendation. I was not disappointed. I kept on thinking, "In perfect world, where a proper, action-packed Superman movie existed, this would be a perfect character study film to exist as a counterbalance to give the audience a good take on both sides to the character and his world." Such a shame, but life isn't meant to have perfection.
ОтветитьProfessor Geek is for all seasons.
ОтветитьI remember when you made this video back in the day and got For All Seasons later on amazon. I have to say its a great recommendation and a wonderful Superman story.
ОтветитьI remember when you talked about this before.
ОтветитьWonderful recommendation, Professor! Could you analyze specific Batman stories like Year One or You Should've Seen Him (Batman Issue 423)?
ОтветитьI don't know how I missed this one, but I've ordered it now, a nice hardcover edition. This should be required reading for anyone with doubts about who Superman is.
ОтветитьI always loved how this book was drawn. The book has this water color style to it. The art is not overly detailed sort of as if we are witnessing a memory. When we remember things from our past we don't always remember every detailed and we forget things visually in our memory. The water color artstyle is a great way to make it seem like we are witnessing a memory. That was my analysis of the art. I want to know your analysis on the art.
ОтветитьI recommend matt wagner trinity
ОтветитьWhat was your take on Stan Lee's version of Superman
ОтветитьAh, memories....I remember when you made this recommendation so glad you did it because I found it amazing!
ОтветитьI'm gonna need to track this story down 😃
ОтветитьA classic for the ages. Needs way more attention.
I will always hold this story (and this analysis) in high regard, as I feel it's the story that truly taught me how to think about character voice in writing. How to make each character unique in how they articulate ideas. It's made quite an impression on my own writing. Thanks, Prof.! 😉
I love that Clark is huge like a barn and Lara Is so petite and delicate
Ответитьoh yeah this comic is great.
ОтветитьFor All Seasons is definitely one of my favorites, and Sale's simplistic art style is one of the big reasons!
ОтветитьCover invincible
ОтветитьTalk about Godzilla vs. Kong!
ОтветитьThis was an excellent idea, rereleasing these older analyses you did. I enjoyed watching this just as much the second time as I did the first. Your understanding of story structure and characters is something I envy, Professor!
As for comic runs I would like you to analyze, here goes: Frank Miller’s Daredevil (if the run is too much, then at least Born Again), V for Vendetta, Kraven’s Last Hunt, The Dark Knight Returns, Kingdom Come, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow, and What Do You Get for the Man Who Has Everything.
Professor geek what your thought the wheel of time series and it's characters ? it's worth it to read ?
Ответить1837’s the adventures of mr. Obadiah old buck
ОтветитьShould the dynamic between Lex Luthor and Superman remind me of Ellsworth Toohey and Howard Roark from The Fountainhead? Philosphical differences aside, that is, just in terms of character of course.
ОтветитьSuperman for all seasons is one of the best Superman stories that shows the type of person Superman really is.
ОтветитьWell this in my opinion is a perfect story that could be adapted into film my only problem with this story is that Lex is more corporate businessman than scientists since I do Prefer a more scientist Lex but still this story is good
