She is the greatest. The way she navigates around the keyboard is inspiring, to say the least.

A performance for the ages of an ageless masterpiece. Thank you, Beethoven. And thank you, Valentina.

Valentina Lisitsa is the greatest pianist I have ever heard in all my 71 years. And in addition, she is a beautiful woman. And I have heard most of the great pianists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Even including Rubinstein, Horowitz, and so many others. I have never ever heard anyone who plays Beethoven like she does!!

What is really sad and ignorant is that nobody ever acknowledges that Beethoven suffered from Manic Depression, which today we call Bipolar disorder. So many incredibly brilliant and talented people from all walks of life have had this illness. There would not have been a Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Rachmaninov , Tchaikovsky, Rossini, Bellini, Monet, Schubert, Schumann, Michelangelo, Van
Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Picasso, Isaac Newton , Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln , FDR, JFK, Teddy Roosevelt, Franz Liszt, Noccolo Paganini, earnest Hemingway , Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Jack London and so many great actors and actresses, etc, etc, . Without this mental illness. The list is endless.

This is the Best of the Best version of "Hammerklavier" I ever heard, and saved to Watch it later.

A luminous passionate and deeply felt performance of this towering masterpiece. May I even suggest transcendental. No wonder Liszt praised the work and performed it. He probably was inspired by it when he composed his Transcendental Etudes.
Valentina Lisitsa definitely belongs to the great interpreters of our times. Bravo !

I struggle to remember a 3 minute ragtime piece all the way through and you just go and casually play a 40 minute long sonata without a single mistake from memory xD

It's taken me 72 years more or less but I've finally fallen in love with Opus 106. And what a performance! The scales have fallen from my eyes. (And the trills they rattle my brain.)

I can just about put up with it if I slow it down.
