For context, the world record was 19.72 just 1 month before this race, when Johnson himself lowered it to 19.66.
Ответить🎉what an athlete.. amazing
ОтветитьMe definitely ❤ 😊
ОтветитьI’ve always loved Michael I still love him if I had a dinner party it would be him and JFK and Bob Dylan and I think queen Elizabeth the second obviously and maybe at a bold choice Humphrey Bogart x I think 🎉😂
ОтветитьThat poor javelin thrower...
ОтветитьBen Johnson vs carl lewis
ОтветитьNever liked Johnson. Glad his records are broken now.
Didn't Johnson back out if a race with someone.
Watching Michael Johnson run is still a thrill. My favorite runner.🔥
ОтветитьGot to love all the camera flashes going off at the start! You just dont see that these days, sadly. It looks amazing and really sets off the spectacle 😎

ОтветитьThe greatest 200m win ever but ALSO the greatest description and commentary from Australian legendary broadcaster Bruce McAveney...possibly the greatest athletics broadcast in history. He's home Michael...magnificent running...looks at the time (he'd run into the 21st century like Bob Beamon)...unbelievable...the best, I've ever seen. I keep watching it just to listen to the broadcast as well as the unbelievable run by Johnson
ОтветитьSUPER ATO
ОтветитьO "Pato" é uma lenda ... gigante de mais
ОтветитьEsteroídes?
ОтветитьMichael Johnson was an astonishing athlete, one of the greatest of the 1990's. Roger Black run a very sensible race to get silver. In interviews, Roger always said that he knew he would never been Michael, as his (Roger's) best time was no where near Michael's. So he ran his own race to beat everyone else.
Michael is now a regular commentator at the athletics for the BBC for the Olympics and World Championships and is a great co-presenter with a lot of knowledge and passion.
I was always a huge Michael Johnson Fan! To me he is the more complete runner than Usain Bolt! MJ ran 200 & 400 on worldrecord level at the same time. Bolt never runned really seriously the 400, which is the most demanding distance of all! MJ you are my hero! 🎉❤
ОтветитьHis records are still unbeatable.
ОтветитьI liked the way he leans backwards while running
Ответить神に愛された人! 2024/08/17
ОтветитьI remember it being much clearer on my TV in 1996
ОтветитьMichael Johnson is a true legend
He was different ❣️
So many great Olympic heros from '96, Michael Johnson, Kerri Strugg, Mark Henry, Kurt Angle
ОтветитьThe way he used to run was so odd compared to his opponents.
But he was the Beast!!!!
Back when the Olympics were normal 🙄 (not the circus we saw in 2024 🎠)
ОтветитьBrilliant. Wonderful to watch these races again. Especially the 200 - astounding! If you've not read his autobiography, it's well worth it: "Slaying the Dragon: How to Turn Your Small Steps to Great Feats". That and "I Am Jackie Chan: My Life In Action" are great, inspiring reads.
ОтветитьHe couldn't be satisfied being a 200 and 400m legend. He really had to say he was the fastest man like Donovan Bailey didn't win the 100m
ОтветитьAnddddddddd then Bolt came and rest is History...
ОтветитьUnusual but effective running style.
ОтветитьThe 90s were amazing. Weirdly, Johnson looks like he's going faster than Bolt in that final 50m, I mean obviously not - but he looks rapid.
ОтветитьLails and LeBron look at his shoes
ОтветитьJohnson averaged 9.66 seconds per 100m. Meaning his second 100 was blistering, and against numerous top of the field 100m runners of the time.
ОтветитьCheater
ОтветитьMichel Johnon was a great sprinter. However Donavan Bailey beat him. Afterwards Johnon started limping . Reminds me of a guy called Noah ( drama queen).lyles. great runners but bad losers . They cannot lose like a man.
ОтветитьMehn, Johnson had a peculiar running style, chest out, straight back. I think it is utilised in today's running
ОтветитьПод стероидами выиграл 😂
ОтветитьEPO, HG , Testosterona y Etc etc etc
ОтветитьJohnson was on full peds here lol 💉
ОтветитьGreatest ever athlete in Modern Olympics history...
ОтветитьHow fast would he have been if he had the facilities and tech today?
ОтветитьBailey>chicken Johnson
ОтветитьHe was a pussy.
Would not run against me.
Me.ulton boldon
ОтветитьAm room zimbabwe.irunfast.w we hat causins.people are different.
Ответитьboldon and fredereicks ran personal bests and national records
adrenaline was pumpin like crazy in this race
And the craziest thing about this race is that Frankie Fredericks also broke the old world record. 2 fastest times of all times in the same race. Amazing. And when you think, Pietro Menea's record of 19.72 stood unbroken since 1979 (btw MJ broke that one weeks before the Olympics in Athlanta. Just WOW!
ОтветитьThis man is a living legend
ОтветитьI tried to run like him when I was a kid, that was forgotten quickly
ОтветитьLoved watching him run. That style of his 👋
ОтветитьНикогда не видел спринтера так ровно торс держал.
ОтветитьNot necessary memory is my hero
