the reduce function is in this example very confusing because if you import something anyway, you could just use math.prod([2,3,....])

If Python lambda syntax didn't suck, you could just write `product = reduce((x,y) -> x*y, data)` and it would certainly be the nicer way.

I love map, and it's not because I have been a cartographer---which was in IDL, when I lived in a state of sin (and cos), before I was born again by the light of python.

List comprehension deprecated functions like filter and map.

Do not use filter and map, they are simply slower than list comprehension
