While I agree that DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras essentially produce better images I think a comparison with newer phones would be more fair. Stand alone cameras haven't improved much over the last few years but iPhone and Android cameras have greatly improved just in the last 3 years. Leaps and bounds in low light situations. Not to mention with a plethora of add on lenses and cages built for phones now it's getting harder to tell the difference unless you've been trained to spot them. Love the channel and would like to see more comparisons.

I have the Eos R and iPhone 11 Pro Max it’s getting really hard to tell the difference, sad in a way as you spend so much on lenses etc to find there’s almost no difference lol.

I like seeing compare videos and it's neat to see the back ground differences but also, I agree on the best camera is the one we have. For awhile, I did video with my cell phone (before getting the m50), but I still use the phone for some things too.

Another great vid Eric..for me, the big difference between the 2 is that I can use, for example a fisheye lens, a long telephoto, an ultra wide angle, etc. with a digital camera, and for me, the angles that I can achieve and the macro capabilities are enough reasons by themselves to put the $..btw, my Z50 is not much bigger than a phone anyway ! Thanks again

Good one Eric. Can you shoot RAW on the iPhone and then bring it into Lightroom? Would that make a more fair Apples to um Canons caparison? Would it even make a difference? Also, where is that train car located? Thanks.

That ISO 25600 is very impressive on the EOS R. I'm surprised how clean it is.

Truth is sometime bitter . unless you are really really into photography then there is no point buying camera, when "gizmo" in IPhone practically does the job as well for average "Joe"

I've been watching so many videos, trying to make a decision with regards to my "next step" for my filmmaking, and this finally convinced me to get a camera, and probably the M50. I just shot a feature length film on my LG V40, which actually has an incredible camera, and full manual controls, and I just didn't think I would see that much of a difference with a camera, unless I was willing to spend over $1500. I felt like if I stayed in this M50/Sony a6100 range, it probably wouldn't make that much of a difference, but...... low light. I just could never get what I wanted in my film in low light with my phone, no matter what I did, there was always a lot of noise to deal with. It looks "okay", although in some cases it actually looks pretty bad, and I"m trying to fix it in Davinci Resolve now, but I see, finally, where a proper camera like the M50 is going to help me with this next film. And especially with that Viltrox speed booster, I feel like I can grow with this camera for at least a few years, and do some great work with it. I shoot almost all of my work in 1080/24fps, but I'm assuming that as long as I use manual focus, I can use the 4k/24fps in the M50, and it would be good, is that right? In any case...... Great video, thanks so much for the clarity, you sold me. I've watched all your M50 videos..... Canon should throw you some money. ;) Keep up the great work, and stay well out there!! Keep making art!!! Peace and respect.

Regarding iPhone, they say the lowlight performance made a huge jump since iPhone X. Would like to see the same low light shots on a 13 Pro.
