I remember trading one of my friends for Sorcerer of Dark Magic way back in the mid 2000s because I thought it was so cool. I had no clue it was a movie exclusive at the time or that there was a new YuGiOh movie where you could get a promo card. Just pure luck and power of friendship. It’s still in my collection but all beat up with smooth white curved edges from all the times I jammed my cards in my pants pockets as a kid without cars sleeves.

You should do a what if video where you go through this duel with Yugi and Kiaba drawing the same cards in the same order EXCEPT for PoL. Just have Kiba draw all his cards a turn earlier, or have the PoL draw be a dead draw. Be fun to go through the available plays and see if Kiba could have stopped Slifer and turned the game around from there.

Something regarding the hypothetical Kaiba Winning with the God Cards, is that if he didn’t take down Yugi on that exact turn, the gods would go to the grave during the end phase because they were special summoned

Can only guess Paladin’s effect in the anime is it’s removed from play rather than sent to the graveyard

I remember seeing Yugi and kaiba doing in the Yu-Gi-Oh movie pyramid of light I used to look at that a long time ago on my computer and on TV on cartoon Network man that's been so long wish I could have been seen it in person too but what can you do but it really was a good movie to look at maybe I might look at it again someday I love looking at Pokemon in Yu-Gi-Oh anime and karate and so much more you really do make one the best Yu-Gi-Oh videos you know that pretty cool 😉👍

My only curious question is this: Kaiba activates Obligatory Summon to force all the God Cards to be summoned, by forcing the Winged Dragon of Ra to be summoned without any sacrifice would have zero attack and defense points therefore automatically would’ve destroyed Ra instantly

Kaiba wasn’t giving anything he earned that shining dragon from Pegasus after he beat him in a deal than proceeded to steal the pyramid of light card from Pegasus cause he saw what it could do. The wager was the mystery card for all of Kaiba’s 3 blue eye’s. But by the time the dual started we didn’t know what card it was so he could have won pyramid of light and stole the shinning dragon.

While I don't think it effects anything, would Kaiba fail to summon Ra? I guess the movie just flat ignores it, but a big plot point with Mai vs Marrik was that you need the ancient chant. I guess Kaiba, having watched that duel, would have probably analyzed it, but it can be further argued that it's not just the chant, but the will of the pharaoh's power that allows it. Going even further though, as DSoD shows, Kaiba inherited the Pharaoh's will from his ancestor when he summons Obalisk, so.... fuck me I guess idk.

I think you touched on a key character point when talking about this duel.

If he wasn’t obsessed with a perfect victory, then he wouldn’t be Seto Kaiba, and ironically wouldn’t be obsessed with beating Yugi in the first place.

While you can admire Kaiba’s achievements, you also need to admit that his obsession prevents him from taking pleasure in them, and who he had to become to get there prevents him from having the support base Yugi has.

Pegasus responds, "What do you mean by two cards? Kaiba, there's only one." These exchanges clearly illustrate that Kaiba was never meant to defeat Yami Yugi; instead, they highlight his vulnerabilities and his reliance on the support of others. If Kaiba had won, it would have been with the assistance of multiple individuals rather than through his own strength as a duelist.

Paladin of the White Dragon is a warrior type in the anime OCG that's why it didn't add on Shining Dragon attack points you got it wrong there.

Poor Kaiba. He got robbed in this duel. The writers forgot about Paladin of White Dragon in graveyard, and Anubis denied him of his game winning move.

I guess the movie version of Sphinx Teleia can instantly destroy a defence position monster she attacks, because Obnoxious Celtic Guardian should have been immune to being destroyed by Anubis' monsters.
