Taking A Ride On The Lorenz Attractor

The Lorenz attractor is a beautiful object that was discovered in the early 60s. It is one of the many things, including the Mandelbrot/Julia set, and double pendulums that led to the developement of Chaos Theory. The idea that something that is completely deterministic can be totally unpredictable, without invoking mysterious quantum effects was revolutionary.
