I know this was 4 years ago and I truly, truly love Trevor's show and comedy, but it is precisely this stance from the democrats that often makes Taiwanese liberals fearful. During the 2020 US election, so many Taiwanese liberals supported Trump's re-election because of this stance from the democrats.

China has been bullying us since we, the Republic of China (ROC or Taiwan), were replaced by the PRC as the representation of China in the UN, and lately the most infuriating is that even though we, as a nation of 23 million people, have only under 600 COVID cases and 7 deaths, all without having to shut down the country, yet are STILL being barred from participation in the WHO due to China.

It is so upsetting to me, as someone who grew up in the States yet is a Taiwanese national currently living in Taiwan, to see this type of attitude towards Taiwan from the supposed liberals who support democracy. Talk of respect towards China makes me really disappointed in this episode, as there seems little to no respect given to us.

Not gonna lie, there a few little things I liked that trump did, this one was one of them, Taiwan really needs to be a country of their own.

If u say Taiwan belongs to China then why the Chinese act like they have to take it by force and why we have to talk to them and protect them now if 5 years ago it was considered to be protocol not to communicate with Taiwan Diplomats if they produce are chips and there island positioning too is also important for trade routes
