So I guess they’re kinda trying to give the OLED switch some more longevity. Wish they gave the 3ds this sorta treatment. The thing is still beyond its time imo

To the people who think this is bizarre, consider the fact that a Switch OLED is $100 cheaper than a Switch 2.
For some people, this is a "budget" option. A new console doesn't become a "necessity" until a couple years into its lifespan.
