The Problem with PC Gaming

I have come back from the bathroom many of times to this music.

Its a problem that will always exist, the reason behind that is Microsoft and PlayStation actually make a loss on each console, they make their profit through the games, at launch they always look impressive and close the gap with pcs but as the years go by they fall behind... dropping back to 30fps ect, then the next console gets launched and the cycle starts again....

PC costs are certainly getting ridiculous...

... I've been a PC gamer exclusively for decades, but now I'm thinking I might just look toward consoles moving forward 😕

Hopefully the next Gen 50 series will fall back to 10 series pricing

He doesn't include the 200 dollars a year multi-player fea on consoles to play online so its more like 700 dollars

You’re not really taking into consideration the many many many other uses a PC has that makes it more valuable

I just got my 350.00 Xbox X NEW from Amazon ! So now how does it really Kill a PC ?

I just bought a new computer that has pretty beefy parts on it for like 1.2k, which is the same as what i paid back in 2014 for a setup with lower specs.

Imo you really can build a pc for totally dirt cheap, its just a matter of being able to use older hardware. Intel is really bad about planned obsolescence. I have basically an entire pc i got for free (1st gen i7) and got that sucker up to 5.8ghz, but it doesnt support any modern windows OS

I would take a $500 meh pc over a new gen console any day.

1. Upgrade ability/I don’t have to wait for the 10 years for a new console to upgrade. Part choice. I can change/swap/budget any part I want any time I want. Even if I start with a potato I’ll get way more value in the long run through budgeting and upgrading parts.
2.versatility/can do a lot more then just play games or watch movies on a pc.
3.most games that aren’t starfield run perfectly fine on those pcs, plus star field runs like trash on the ps5 and Xbox as well.

Consoles are sold at a loss and that loss is made up by the subscription service

4070ti vs 3090.. 3090 for £600 used decent quality... or New 4070ti gimped bus and ram... going for 3090 that's a win!

I bought 2 day 1 edition xbox ones from best buy, had to reserve each under a different driver's license just to get 2 lol, but yeh they were Xmas presents for my then 10 n 12 yr Olds , but they're still running today and that Xmas was great. I didn't and don't think those consoles were a mistake at all and now I'm just getting into pc gaming and my 1st prebuilt and do love it more but why is the Xbox purchase a mistake I was just wondering?

Honestly I wish GPUs at the least would come back down to normal prices. Given we can get good 1440p cards for 500-600 but that's still really high compared to the past.

Why hardware makers have to pay certification for every single new driver regularly to Microsoft? Then it can happen, that hardware maker call product to be EOL, while you find it in MS Win compatible labelled box. It is not economical to be fair to customers, reprint boxes and even keep year donations to richest company.
Why MS gives out copies of OS for free? It is kind troyan horse. It pulls out your money without attention.

On the other hand once you get started on pc , one thing you have going is that you can sell or reuse old hardware. Case in point just bought a 6800xt last week but I sold an old cpu a couple of old gpus which pays for 2/3 of the cost.

Well you can build a PC for 200$ that can play games that no console has with way more fps than any console can support

Buy it used then it will be close

What I do now is watch walkthrough vdos so I dont have to buy the games and the pc or console to play them. Its free😅😅😅

The biggest problem I have is finding stuff that isn't a laser light show because manufactures found the gimmick and can't stop.

I’ve noticed this. Been thinking about getting a PC but compared to price to performance it’s hard to match what my series x does. It runs most games at 4k60fps usually on ultra and a lot of old games have been upgraded as well. To get a pc that can play games at 4K60 you’d need like a RTX 4070 AT THE LEAST… so essentially you’d need to pay like 1000-1500 to match what a 500$ console can. What people have told me is that consoles makers build them at a loss to try to get players into their ecosystem to sell online services.
