Sorry but I can't buy this book It is a "revelation" that we've all known since Biden was vice president! The ONLY reason Biden was deemed "electable" was because he'd been 0bama's VP and thought to be the moderate on the ticket that enabled 0bama to get elected He was losing in the 2020 primary until Democrats forced everyone else out! Why did they want HIM and no one else? Because they knew he was just a shell of his former self and they could govern in his stead! The proof of this is that he "governed" like a RADICAL when he'd NEVER been one in all the years of his senate career He had always been such a gaffe machine that the White House would frequently have to clean up statements that he made in public after interviews and speeches 0bama knew this which is why he took so long to endorse him and why he famously said "never underestimate Joe Biden's ability to F*ck things up!" It's a matter of record that Thompson and Tapper themselves saw evidence of Biden’s decline but kept that knowledge to themselves.
Thompson went one step further. He wrote an article in Axios, about a year ago, that attempted to downplay Biden's cognitive decline.

As Washington anchor for CNN, it was Tapper's responsibility - to the nation he belongs to, even to the world - to give utterance on CNN to what he already knew about Biden's decline - well before that Trump-Biden debate. Had he done that, he may well have altered the course of history.

So, who committed the "original sin"? Was it not Tapper, Thompson (and other journalists) who had witnessed Biden's mental bloopers but had kept this under wraps until that stark debate non-performance made it impossible for the media to keep silent any longer?

The host here, of course, is doing a promo chat, not asking these difficult questions as a good journalist should.
