Redragon K552 Modding Guide (Beginner Friendly)

I need help, I have Akko Cream Yellow V3 Switches & they won't go in all the way, any help would be appreciated!

AKKO I feel is all hype. Read reviews. Many failed switches , and price is so low for all they give you I think they are junk.
My K582 Surara OUTEMU several went bad after a few months gaming , so I bought new batches of blue OUTEMU from Amazon , replaced every single factory-installed red , and have had zero failures after 2 years of hard use. Back when I bought them they were $12.99/20 so bought that x 4.
I suspect the OUTEMU of originals was not same quality.
AKKO does a lot of advertising of so many colors and price way too low. No way there is any significant difference in feel between like 20 colors. Colors with fancy names. AKKO trying too hard to impress.
Reviews say many are duds out of each batch. I have had ZERO duds.

My K582 is already weapon-grade-heavy , solid. I have rage-smashed it many times with zero failures.

It is NOT Red Dragon One D=RED-RAGON or RE-Dragon. One crap Chinese company makes several "brands"

I bought holy pandas from ali express but it does not fit and when i manage to put it in it doesn’t type can anyone help me on this?

Any people thinking of modding their Reddragon k552 keyboard just note that not all switches work on this pcb. Most Cherry and mainstream switches will have pins that are to big to fit the hotswap holes. so if you were to use mainstream switches which I used ink blacks you would have to sand down each pin so that they fit into the pcb.

where can bay keycaps for k552 ??

Do Akko pro switches work for the k552 kumara?

I cannot use that cheap switch puller. I find it too awkward. Glorious makes a puller that looks like a long yellow pair of tweezers & works GREAT!

what it be a bad idea to just use Flex seal to fill in your keyboard?

Do you have to use rubber or foam or can you just replace the keys?

Is there a way to change the cable on this keyboard? as in make the cable detachable because I hate having to reach all the way down everytime if I need to unplug it for cleaning or something

I have NEW news regarding the switches and AKKO. His NEW switches do NOT fit the K552 or probably any other keyboard that can have outemo switches. BUT that doesn't mean it's completely over. I bought the purple switch from AKKO but didn't notice it was a 5 pin, okay big deal just cut of those side plastic pins with a nail cutter. Now it should fit, because it's a 3 pin now, right? WRONG. The copper pins are to thicc. Thin them both down with sandpaper and you should be good. It will take between 4-6 hours. So, yeah...

What's the point?
Spending more than double the money of the actual keyboard?

noob question since I'm new to this. Is it possible to put cherry profile keycaps in OEM profile? My K552 is OEM and what I want is cherry profile.

Try Machenike K500 Mechanical Keyboard (red switch) type C, very durable. I have 6 pcs for my computer shop and have used it for more than 3 years. No need to mod and it's cheaper than Redragon K552 mechanical keyboard.

Ok so akko switches don't technically fit. What happens is when you force them in is the bottom pin folds and collapses in a way where it still works completely fine but the switches will be damaged in a way you can't use them in another keyboard. Just a heads up for other reddragon modders once you mod and put in the new switches there's no going back so fill the case with the best material you can from the start.

Money spent on modding is more than buying a new one😂
