I totally agree. It could have been a really cool scene, a classic, but the movie version was disappointing in a big way. Totally downplayed a great line.

I don't understand this sentence. Curiosity intrinsically implies attention. So if they had his curiosity, then they ALREADY has his attention. That's cuz it's impossible to be curious about something without first paying attention to it. So the more logical sentence would be "You had my attention, but now you have my curiosity." However, I think that if this more logical sentence doesn't sound as interesting, it's because of the less rhythmic pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables. Or, it's because the consonants of "attention" sound more enticing than the consonants of "curiosity".
