He was excellent Larry Grayson, the innuendo's are all there, very funny guy. I think Julian Clary has similarly took on Larry's mantle. But let's face it, Camp humour, never ever fails to raise a good laugh does it. I wonder if there was any hanky code in the jokes. I'm sure someone better informed will know.
ОтветитьA brilliant comic. God bless you, Larry x

ОтветитьBrilliant, every line a double entendre. And his gestures and looks, he has an audience of 2000 people in the palm of his hands.
ОтветитьAn amazing talent. His double entendres were amazing and he left us with some of the most iconic catchphrases of all time.

ОтветитьLarry Grayson, the beloved British comedian best known for his flamboyant, camp persona and his catchphrases like “shut that door!”, was a staple of light entertainment in the 1970s and 80s, particularly as the host of The Generation Game. But behind the glitter and double entendres lay a surprising truth that few fans ever suspected—Grayson was not nearly as camp in real life as he appeared on screen. In fact, he had a rugged, unexpected side: he played rugby union for his hometown of Nuneaton for years, even during his time fronting one of the BBC’s biggest shows. His position was hooker, working fiercely in the scrum, earning him the cheeky nickname “Hooker Grayson” from his teammates. It’s a twist that perfectly captures the contrast between the man and the myth—a performer who made a nation laugh with his effeminate shtick, while quietly roughing it on the pitch in one of sport’s toughest roles.
ОтветитьGive my regards to Apricot Lill!
