Mr. Burton did NOT get a fair shot at Jeopardy! But if we get more of him on other platforms because of it, then I’ll be okay.
ОтветитьThis was hilarious and depressing at the same time.
ОтветитьThe "sexualizing" comment by conservatives is especially ridiculous. Should teachers not be referred to as Mrs because it implies the marriage and thus sexuality of the teacher?
I hope someone sues a Florida school for mentioning heterosexuality, because the ban is on mentioning sexuality, not banning homosexuality or trans gender identity.
Bigots just see themselves as normal and couldn't write laws reflecting reality -_-
Thanks for the captions, but "not going to be boots" should clearly be "knocking boots" 😬
ОтветитьI find it disgusting how hypocritical a certain party is.
“It’s my right to own guns, you can’t take them away,” “the government can’t force me to take a vaccine,” “businesses can’t force me to wear a mask”
buuuut
“no one has the right to read books I don’t agree with,” “the government should control women’s bodies,” and “businesses can turn customers away if they don’t agree with their relationships/don’t have to supply insurance for medical things they don’t believe in” 🤔
I absolutely LOVE that they have this section with Levar Burton. I’ve been a lifelong fan- I grew up with Reading Rainbow and then watched him for years on Star Trek. Now he’s advocating building knowledge and understanding through reading again. Great job, Daily Show! Read banned books!
ОтветитьAfter watching this I looked up a list of just some and was freaking shocked! Even Where's Waldo and the freaking Lorax!
ОтветитьI LOVE LEVAR BURTON! Reading rainbow was my childhood and for me to love reading even more! Also I ❤ Star Trek! And he's ONLY THE BEST ENGINEER EVER!
ОтветитьBut you 'don't have to take his word for it'.
ОтветитьEverybody sing it!
"Butterfly in the skyyy, I can fly twice as hiiiigh..."🎶🎵🦋🌈
Thanks Levar! Super video!
ОтветитьWe learned about Rosa Parks in school 50 years ago. Why is it not allowed now?
ОтветитьGREEN EGGS AND HAM
ОтветитьHUCKLEBERRY FINN
ОтветитьLevar will have more credibility when he stands up against tech companies banning whatever they've determined to be "misinformation". Did he stand up for Dr. Seuss? How about standing up for the right of conservatives to speak at Universities without the doors being blocked or threats of rioting? Don't recall him making a stand then. Or does his message only apply when he's not offended and when he agrees with what's being said?
Ответить💙💛💜💙💛💜
ОтветитьAre they banned or just not in the school library?
ОтветитьI had to laugh 😂😂😂 the message is clear you heard him read band books 😂
ОтветитьLavar is my herwo
ОтветитьKeep Reading people! DONT BAN BOOKS.
READ, THOMAS C. STUHR
THE WORLD'S MOST UNDERGROUND AUTHOR. 💀❤☠
Fahrenheit 451
ОтветитьFunny they didn't have the Bible, Cat in the Hat (yes, that book is banned in certain places) or Steven Orwell's 1984. Really funny since Rosa is on the shelf in the library in the elementary school that I work in.
ОтветитьReally dissapointing to see Burton behaving like this. While no books should be banned in a free country, these books should not under any circumstances be allowed inside schools or public libraries.
ОтветитьOof. Right in the childhood.
ОтветитьHahaha you are complaining about others being offended but you are offended by a song what a HYPOCRITE
ОтветитьLevar Burton virtue signaling at its finest! 🤦🏼♂️
ОтветитьWhy is this man not Secretary of Education??
ОтветитьHere's a man who has done more than the grand majority of people in the entertainment industry to earn the peoples' respect. I'm glad to see Mr. Burton offer the proverbial "bird" to the thought police establishment and to urge free access to challenging and--gasp--potentially offensive (suibversive?) ideas.
Congratulations to Mr. Burton for his lifetime achievement award. His family is one lucky bunch.
Democrat are nuts it just a book
ОтветитьYou support sexually inappropriate books tell the truth
ОтветитьYou can throw hands with me son. You’re nothing but a punk racist and a coward.
ОтветитьHop on Pop!? It's disrespectful ya'll to parents and men 😅🤣; well most every cartoon and sitcom from way back in the 50's and up has made fun of adults/parents in all types of scenarios. Guess we should ban all of those, too. 🙃🙄
ОтветитьLePed
ОтветитьI’m sorry but what book did this man read says it’s okay to promote violence against white women whose opinions differ from his?
ОтветитьPedophiles
ОтветитьIf these books should be in public libraries then why "edit" the part where he is reading the book?
ОтветитьNot your best acting but I agree with you. I went to Fairfax county
In Fairfax va. In the 90's Mark Twain was taken out of school libraries. Now do you think "book burning" is acceptable at all?
Run Mr Burton, they coming for ALL of us 😭💔
ОтветитьIm gonna go read those banned Dr. Suess books. I mean, they're not banned but the discontinued one's. You know which one's im talking about, right?
ОтветитьSuch a shame he turned out to be an ignorant racist.
How he got so twisted I don't know. You'd think he'd have learned something on startrek or reading rainbow.
Im 40 years old. Why is it still so funny when he cusses? 😂
ОтветитьVery interesting
ОтветитьEverybody get out there and read The Satanic Bible by Anton Levay
ОтветитьHomer Simpson: "It's so sad the way they hopped on Pop."
ОтветитьI love that he is so him! And thats why he has been doing this for so long, authentication is the key! Keep pushing and teaching brother! Shalom ✌🏾 🌈
Ответить"If all printers were determined to not print anything until they were sure it would offend nobody, very little would be printed."
Benjamin Franklin
"Banning ideas and authors is not a "culture war." It's fascism."
It's pitiful how badly the left is still trying to cling to the "we're the resistance" narrative.
ОтветитьBut you don’t have to take my word for it
ОтветитьLoved that show 📚🌈✨🙌🏿📚🌈✨🙌🏿 Unk inspired me to keep a 📚 in my hand
