Cool tool. 🛠
ОтветитьMy favourite nippers for close in work, I got some from Japan, love them…but I keep them from away general cutting and hard plastic like HK😅
They go through that soft Airfix plastic like it’s not there!😂
Poor Dottie, breaks my heart 😢
ОтветитьI bought some last year in Japan and have used them less than 10 times. I do have a set from Zoukie Mura which get used all the time, I use a Zuron set for thicker gates then trim down with the ZM set. Godhands are great for Gundam which is where they came from but can't say I'm a fan.
ОтветитьI have god hands and dspiae ones (vs2 and vs3) I would rate the god h and a bit higher but only by a small margin. For most work I use the dspiae ones. Delicate work god hand. Massive bonus of the 1 sided cutters is the no poing part gone thingy
ОтветитьI've had them for a while personally love them
ОтветитьIrc Godhand was originally aimed at gundam builders for the coloured parts so no stress marks .
ОтветитьAnd you can read Japanese 🤭
ОтветитьI have been using these for over a year now, yes, some small limitations but they give a excellent flat cut. Worthy addition to the tool box.
Ответитьnice review, god hands never impressed me I just thought have a cpl pair of tamiya nips ,1 for course work ,1 set for for in close and usual sanding needs ...Mate looking forward to seeing Dotty more in future :)
ОтветитьThey look very much like (if not identical to performance wise) my Dspiae equivalents which i tend to use as a luxury item for certain delicate parts and use my other nippes for day to day stuff.
ОтветитьHello from across the pond! I use Xuron nippers. Very similar. Have had a pair for years
ОтветитьI have had a pair of Mineshima single edge cutters (Japanese, and at the same price point as Trumpeter) which are several years old and starting to get a but blunt now. They have been good for leaving minimal sprue gate behind where accessible. However. After watching the start of the King Tiger video I see the issue with them. May stick with single sided with two sharp blades.
ОтветитьWill they cut the Pocher spruces as they seem to be dormant?
ОтветитьInteresting review, thank you Nigel. Pricey just have to decide if the extra is worth it and think about which plastics I would use them on. I like my DSPIAE 3.0 nippers. I recently invested in a set of the new single blade nippers that come with a replaceable blades. Hopefully at some point you’ll review those as well.
ОтветитьNo that you have Dottie, you'll need to build the P-47 also named Dottie!
ОтветитьI have these and they're the best ones I own, got them at a local show for a pretty good price.
ОтветитьBest modelling money I ever spent. Been using mine for two years with no issues.
ОтветитьI have these nippers. They are very good but be careful not to drop them. I managed to drop them from a few inches height and bent one of the blades and had to carefully reset the blade with a pair of pliers. I’d probably go for more robust nippers in the future.
ОтветитьThis probably goes without saying but don't use them on anything hard like metal. I ruined mine trying to cut a 0.5 mm steel bar that i didn't realise was hardened. I thought at that price and quality they could handle it but it left dents in the cutting surface and they were useless for plastic after that. A little later after they were already 'ruined', I attempted to cut a 2mm steel bar and about 3mm of the tip snapped off the cutters and flew across the room. Not being willing to throw them away, i used a bench grinder and ground the jaws back so they are still useable but i only have a tiny cutting surface now. I highly recommend buying actual side cutters for anything metal and keeping these snips strictly for plastic parts. They were good snips before i destroyed them so i'm sure it's just me being an idiot that caused the issues i had.
