It's the European Convention "on" European Rights.
ОтветитьWe could have all this stuff while still not having to accept all terms of the echr
ОтветитьThis still works in 2025
ОтветитьI hope Reform UK watches this, even if their brains can't compute it.
ОтветитьThey're still trying to abolish it in the UK in 2025.
ОтветитьSo depressing
ОтветитьI thought this was from 2025 given how incredibly accurate it is.
ОтветитьLemme get this straight. It was British legal experts who helped make the ECHR and decades later Britain wanted to get rid of it?
Reminds me of Trump's deal with Canada and Mexico on his first term, but in his second term he said that deal was bad.
ECHR isn't ECtHR, The Court seems corrupt
ОтветитьIf only the BBC had the balls to play this on the 6oclock news
ОтветитьSo ironic this was before Brexit.
ОтветитьExcept that this is all just 'words on paper' that do NOT translate into reality! (Apart from the fact that this a parody of a Monty Python sketch). The ECHR is just yet another smoke-and-mirrors operation designed to make the general collective believe that we exist in functioning democracies. We do Not! The ECHR - whilst being a noble document - is unenforceable whilst our master-pretender-politicals hold the autocratic reins.
Ответитьwhy does patrick stewart remind me of my grandad haha
ОтветитьIn order to fully enjoy this skit, one must be completely ignorant of history. Pretty much everything listed in here were rights that the British acquired hundreds of years before the ECHR was drafted. Sometimes something looks clever, but in fact is built on false ideas. And that is what we have here.
ОтветитьI imagine this very scenario playing out in a room with Robert Jenrick, only without the realisation at the end. He's a bit dim is our Rob.
ОтветитьI've had this video bookmarked for years...
ОтветитьMost of these rights have been included in the Magna Carte, and improved- look at the flip side of the ECHR, and how is it is being used by third parties to use ECHR to destroy everything it should represent- effectively democracy being abused to destroy democracy.
Ответить... so the price was "THE WAR" itself ... .
.... often people forget what their parents and grandparents use to fight for and paid the PRICE for .. they are the only ones to understand and comprehend it's Value ...
... today we are going back to fight again for the same .. we didn't evolve in the most valuable aspects of our life, which makes a difference between animals and 'US', the so called "we" ..
Patrick Stewart as our pm please ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьNothing more needs to be said on this subject!
ОтветитьWho had all those anyway, before we joined the ECHR!
ОтветитьWow, I didn't know that UK citizens didn't have right to a fair trial prior to 1953, I wish smug people could read history books too.
ОтветитьJacob and his mates want rid to start sending kids up chimneys again for £2 an hour.
ОтветитьGreat Stuff...
ОтветитьWho's watching this in 2024?
ОтветитьIts really depressing that this amazing skit was uploaded 8 years ago
Yet here we are in 2024 and we still have bigoted lunatics standing to lead the Tory party on a platform of leaving the ECHR
💜
Ответитьeverything thing is a product of its time and how it is interpreted, unless lawyers drew up the fine print it open! UK hasnt accepted it new place in the scheme of things, boris johnson killed the queen!
ОтветитьThompson William Walker Jessica Lopez Joseph
ОтветитьHilarious, but borrowed from Monty Python's "What have the Romans ever done for us?"
ОтветитьEuropean Court of Illegal Migrant Rights 😂
ОтветитьBut apart from that, what have the Romans ever done for us?
Ответить👏Still needs saying, and playing.
ОтветитьYes, the ECHR invented freedom from slavery and the right to a fair trial —> the UK was a lawless state prior to all of this.
ОтветитьCaptain Jean-Luc Picard on deck!
ОтветитьFunny how this has come back again. Atleast Rwanda scam is now over.
ОтветитьHuman rights only get taken away when a regime wants to imprison its own people but is unable to do so in a fair trial. So it takes away the fair trial.
ОтветитьWhat have the Romans ever done for us?
ОтветитьThere was no right to fair trial before the ECHR?
ОтветитьThat is brilliant. Should be compulsory viewing in every secondary school.
ОтветитьThe United Kingdom had no freedom from slavery before the ECHR?
ОтветитьSomeone has been watching Monty Python
ОтветитьAnd now I must rewatch Blunt Talk
ОтветитьVery interesting
ОтветитьThe problem is the brexit didn't understand the difference between EU and ECHR and they are not linked. And was part of the need to leave this too
ОтветитьWhen you realise your privately educated tory politicians cheated in all their exams.
ОтветитьEven more relevant in 2024 than back then
ОтветитьThat's awesome, 😂
ОтветитьBrilliant. Perhaps the Tory party needs to watch this.
