A friend lend me a Tom Scott CD (Born again) when I was first year jazz college, loved it, and by those years I recognized him on TV, conducting the Oscars ceremony orchestra. Hats off to maestro Scott.
ОтветитьI bought my first hifi speakers in the late 70's and the salesman played Tom Scott and the LA Express' Tom Cat album. Fantastic music and had to have the album and on cd when it first became availiable.
They were the backing band on Joni Mitchell's Miles of Aisles live album/cd which is great as well. Perfect collaboration!
it's wild how this guy is the horn in some of the most remarkable music that lives at every stage of my life and i never knew
ОтветитьI have one of those Roland AE-30’s and love it, makes sense he would be using it now.
ОтветитьMan…”Today” changed how I listen to music. You are a pure genius!!!
ОтветитьPlot twist: he was herded in that direction because there’s another lion waiting. That’s typically what they do.
ОтветитьLoving the Sax-A-Boom
ОтветитьLegend !!!
ОтветитьPeeeeeeeeeeegggggggg
ОтветитьSounds like a yoko instrument
ОтветитьPlayed with Lou Marini, Alan Ruben and Tom Malone in the Blues brothers band. Doesn't get much better than that
ОтветитьWould've expected that to be named Winthesizer 🤔
ОтветитьIf you met this guy at Home Depot, and didn't know who he was, it would likely shock you to know the legendary tracks and artists he's supported...and that he, himself, is a legend. Tom Scott has been there, and definitely done that!
ОтветитьAre they MIDI? And were they in the 80s?
ОтветитьThe mystery unveiled at last!
And no potty mouth this time! Yay!
shoutout to Nyle Steiner, inventor of the EWI.
ОтветитьThe first time I heard it, Dan fogelberg used one on the instrumental break for Heart Hotels, the part frequently played in concert by a soprano saxophone
ОтветитьSo it’s a Wii remote?
ОтветитьWx7 has the best look
ОтветитьWould you please include links to your full interviews? This is a great way to discover and quickly get to episodic content. 😊
ОтветитьTom Scott & LA Express..
ОтветитьI know both of those songs backwards and forwards and never knew it was this instrument, which I never knew existed, was producing those incredible sounds!
ОтветитьCan't even hear the thing they're talking about... 😕
ОтветитьOf course you can't hear it
ОтветитьTom Scott is truly amazing!
ОтветитьI mean it sounds good so. 👍
ОтветитьWe grew up wondering just what the hell that sound was. It's so unlike any wind instrument, and yet it's undeniably a wind instrument.
ОтветитьTom scott not wearing a red t shirt and not speaking brittish is odd.
ОтветитьWithout the Lyricon, we never would have had the Cantina Band from Star Wars.
ОтветитьThe Jazzman hissef 🎉🎉🎉
Ответитьand just like that, Lyricon prices went up 200% on eBay
ОтветитьSolo on Hard to Say is epic
ОтветитьTom Scott is so associated with the Lyricon I actually thought he invented it!😉
Ответитьsax player in my band played an ewi. it was sweet!
ОтветитьI love hearing stories about how songs were recorded.
ОтветитьI always wanted and ewi, I need to look into them again
ОтветитьI didn’t know that was a thing. Now I want one.
ОтветитьNow I understand the Cantina Band.
ОтветитьNo… just no
ОтветитьOne of the best tv show theme’s of all time season 2 of Starsky & Hutch was by Tom Scott
Ответитьhe played the closing instrumental theme for the show Family Ties as well.
ОтветитьIS IT EASIER TO PLAY THAN A CLARINET & SAX?
ОтветитьWhy use a synth wind instrument over a real one?
ОтветитьI have only ever seen one person play this instrument “Jean Michel Jarre”
ОтветитьI have a great Tom Scott album, but I didn't know he did all these other things
ОтветитьLove Tom Scott. However, this is the most rehearsed interview I have ever seen.
ОтветитьHe did the Lyricon solo on "Do That To Me One More Time,"
ОтветитьI wondered what instrument made that sound!!
Ответитьaka the Kazoo
ОтветитьMy favorite, Tom Scott
