There’s the very real possibility the Pro will be the best place to play UE5 games during its four year lifetime. High image quality, no stuttering. And given just how many games are being made in UE5 it’s a big deal.

It's either this, vr headset for ps5 or the 9800x3d for my pc. I dont care abput patches for games ive already completed, but when something new comes out that my ps5 doesnt handle as well ill end up getting a ps6 😂

All I know is I'm excited for PS6 because of the Pro. Sony has 3 or so years to enhance PSSR and PSSR is looking good out the gate. I bought my Pro day one and can't wait to play. The pro is just a stepping stone into next gen.

What's interesting is that we did this for the PS5 and Series X launch.

That was quickly disproven. Faster SSDS appeared on PC within months after the launch of the new consoles, and the promise of 4k 60 and 4k120 quickly fell to the wayside as games began to launch with 30 fps modes as their default on "next gen" consoles, or like Until Dawn, their only option, and with resolutions that were in the sub four digits being upscaled to near 4k.

So here we are again, and now Sony has promised us that we will now definitely get the 4k 60 we were promised from the Base PS5 several years ago, as a standard now, and now the conversation retarts itself.

"Pro gaming for the masses, for only 700 dollars! This is better than PC!'

I'm reminded of Vaas asking what the definition of insanity is.

We already have reports of several PS5 Pro patched games having a 30 fps mode on the console, something Cerny told us we no longer had to worry about, or toggle a switch for, since 75% of PS gamers were choosing 60 fps modes.

What is the PS5 Pros power supply? Is it still running around 300 watts??

It is said that PS5 Pro will be the console that plays Gta 6 best, but there is still 1 year left for Gta 6 to be released. I wish PS5 Pro had come out next year. It would be more powerful and up to date. If Xbox releases its next generation console early with the release of GTA 6, PS5 Pro will be worth nothing.

PS5 Pro = a low end ray tracing gaming pc . Its definitely better than the base obviously which had no Ray Tracing but until it can do 4k @ over 60FPS without AI it's only a 'pro' over the base ps5. Base ps5 = PS4 pro

Pro is useless, the main point of consoles is you dont need to excel , you pay once a moderate amount and toy play for the whole lifecycle of the console about 6 to 8 years.

PS5Pro is looking like a must have for me and anyone who cares about image quality.

A $700 Console that performs like a $2000 PC

So can PS5 pro runs ray trace 60 fps at 1080p? Can the new console do this? Or does it even have the option to run ray trace at 60fps at 1080p for all games with ray trace?

I'm not even asking for 4k, just hd/1080p ray trace 60fps. Can ps5 pro satisfy this for ALL PS5 games with ray trace?

Great video, thanks. No doubt the Pro will make big improvements in many titles (starting with FFVII Rebirth). I think internet will be flooded with videos highlighting where the Pro makes big improvements; it would be nice to do the opposite, and do a video showing the games where the PS5 Pro makes the least improvements. To make those of us rocking the og PS5 feel a bit better :)

Scalpers are going have a field day with ps5 pro lol. And seem Sony isn’t taking it serious enough. As NX suggests and as I’ve suggested, to buy a pro, should have prove you’ve had ps account with Sony for atlests 2+ to 3+ yrs. And actually owned digital or disc games. There also the question will devs support it enough. Sure for 1st party games. Will 3rd devs support it?

IMO I still don’t think it’s worth the price. It’s $950+ Canadian here, no stand, no blu ray drive, which you have to buy extra. It’s also using the same AMD Zen2 cpu with very minor speed bump. I think run 3.7 ghz? Where many website are still reporting the ps5 pro is only 3.5 ghz lol. The ps4 pro cpu did get bump in performance, it wasn’t a lot but was some over base ps4. This time Sony seem ignore cpu. Imo that is mistake. We could see games being held back again by cpu bottlenecking the more powerful gpu. There was some ps4 pro games that has this issue.

Be liking buying high end RDNA 3 gpu then pairing with weak zen 2 cpu. I suspect Sony did this for compatibility with all ps4/ps5 and for cost. Zen 3 CPUs here Canada still kinda expensive, so it’s prob why Sony did this. But they must got deal on RDNA3 gpu part. Imo still would made more sense go zen 3 cpu. Maybe ps6 be zen 3/ rdna4+. Lol.

Time will tell if pro is worth the $$$$ or if it’s ignored by gamers.

look guys it is great u know but i hope the price goes down so i think ps5 pro gives u 4k 60fps or 4k 30fps with ray traicng and sometimes gives u 4k 60fps with rau tracing with pssr with all of it for me idc about ray tracing so i only need a good quality like 4k + 60fps and this is what ps5 pro gives u

I'm assuming the PS Portal will play games better as well. Giving your internet is good. The games that need VRR to maintain steady looking frames should play better without stutter because of the extra power without needing VRR tvs.

Great video. If only Sony would give us a Pro patch for Returnal. I feel it could benefit a great deal more than some of the other first party titles which have confirmed pro patches, especially if they can implement some additional RT features from the PC release

The smarter man will wait. The first batch of ps4 pros weren't the best. If I remember correctly the last ps4 pro model was the best. It was silent and didn't sound like a jet. That was the model I bought. Makes me laugh, everyone's running like savages preordering a console that hasn't even been reviewed😂😂😂 to quote Magneto from the last stand" In chess the pawns go first". I'll watch the ps5 pro reviews and continue to enjoy my ps5 which shipped with no defects because it was the last model before the newer designed slim.🤷 I didn't have to pay anything for my ps5 for a whole year without interest. Got my ps5 last October and only paid for it yesterday🤷 I literally could have done the same thing for the ps5 pro I even checked that they had them available to order. Put in my basket and was notified it would be delivered a few days after release then I remembered hearing all the complaints people had about the first few waves of the ps4 pro and that it paid to wait. I benefited from waiting till the best version of the ps4 pro came out before getting one and there is less of a jump from ps5 to ps5 pro than there was from ps4 to ps4 pro since both consoles are 4k this time around and my tv is 4k unlike when I went from ps3 to ps4 pro when I just got my 4k tv.

How will the boost mode effect on back compact ps4 games?

i own already a ps5 and i think the pro is a minimal improvement. i saw many videos and reviews and yes there is some improvements in some games but not all and its not so impressive really. very small upgrade to me. the pro runs the same games and its not a new generation. i been reading that even gta 6 would run at 30 fps on the pro too. all the games on the ps5 will work on both so there wont be any exclusives to the pro. i have many ps5 games and i dont have any issues with the fps or graphics quality at all. i would not recommend buying the pro at the price they ask for unless you really have much money to spend and dont care about it because its not a major upgrade and its not needed. a regular ps5 runs fine.
