Ответитьis there an CD or MP3 version of the Anthology of Richard Burton?
ОтветитьWonderful!
ОтветитьBrilliant.
ОтветитьBurton...he tolls this piece...like the rhythm of a bell. Ripe.
ОтветитьHe sounds almost exactly like J.R.R Tolkien in his rendition of the poem.
ОтветитьThank you metrisch for uploading this gem
Ответитьwonderful
ОтветитьGoose bumps here!Love Mr Burton
ОтветитьLovely, my mother's aunt worked for Richard Burton when he was married to Taylor. Makes it a bit more personal. :)
ОтветитьI liked his recital of this poem. He didn't over-enunciate. He let the images speak for themselves. He paused perfectly and let the accents fall where they should have. Bravo !
ОтветитьMay you be blessed by Buddha for sharing this with us all....
ОтветитьSuperior.
ОтветитьPlease - why do we have to have that awful Atwood voice prior to the sublime sound of Burton?
ОтветитьBurton's intonation and timing is a travesty of this poem. Listen to Dylan's recordings and catch the tongue in cheek performance. Dylan was taking the piss out of the literati but unfortunately succumbed to American measures.
ОтветитьI once had a recording of Dylan Thomas's recitation of this gem. Dylan's voice was more emotional. His voice was very powerful but also somewhat tremulous, lying a crying violin.
ОтветитьWhat wonderfully feeling poetry ..his reminisce of childhood is perfect for all and some others are easy ISH to understand..the difficult ones I have to look at their meanings online!! Thanks Dylan for your marvellous work and thanks to all poets for contributing to the poetry of others.. you've given me much pleasure over the years..
ОтветитьMy goodness, I am not able to describe what I feel at the beauty of this rendition and of the wonderful words he reads.
ОтветитьDylan likes using they’re dumb in his poems
