Stop killing me man
Man glad to see you back, I was worried the heat took you.
Ответитьthank you jeb
ОтветитьGlad you're back! I was getting a little worried that something had happened to you. It's summer (at least in North America) Are you living in Australia where the seasons are opposite? Or was this video from last Winter but you just didn't upload it until 2 days ago?
As for the problem with the heat killing your foliage I'm thinking a water chiller or maybe large blocks of ice in the totes might be a way to solve that problem.
"Necessity is the mother of invention". Those were some interesting inventions you had going there. Hope this new beginning has some more of that 👍
ОтветитьThose things will rage when it's colder. If the water is above 80 the roots are going to struggle for oxygen.
Good luck man!
The heat will take us all. The planet is turning into Venus and no one seems to want to change...
ОтветитьCan't wait for the new garden Jeb!
ОтветитьA new garden wil join the JCU (Jeb Cinematic Universe), exited to see what you can do there.
ОтветитьJeb, you are the solution.
ОтветитьYo Jeb, thanks for the videos!!!
ОтветитьI'm so glad Jeb is back!!!
ОтветитьShade cloth would have made a difference.
ОтветитьAn unexpected surprise, but a pleasant one.
ОтветитьMissed your videos sir. Hope you're ok!!
ОтветитьI love you're videos dude
ОтветитьI’m in Az. My plants didn’t do well at all!
ОтветитьWow what a coincidence I used to watch you a long time ago maybe around coving and then you stopped making videos, now I started to look at hydroponics again so I try to find you and BAM new video 6 days ago after a long hiatus :D
ОтветитьRETURN OF THE KING
ОтветитьAlways make sure you got good genetics also
ОтветитьHi Jeb. Try creating a shade so they get full morning sun and less afternoon sun. Since hydroponic is a growing technique, u might as well create a shade too. Hydroponics must be hard to grow outside in small plastic bins. Have u tried 2 black bins in 1? It may keep the water cooler than just 1 bin exposed to the sun. Hydroponics probably works best indoors in controlled climates.
ОтветитьI need an audiobook with Jeb narrating.
ОтветитьJEB!!
ОтветитьI swear i thought i was listening to The Dark Knight OST. You are the Nolan of gardening
ОтветитьThe small chuckle as the camera panned over the new backyard was perfect.
Ответитьnice
Ответитьnice
ОтветитьGosh I've missed you! Glad to see you again! <3 I absolutely love your videos they're so epic and I am always so invested!
ОтветитьGood to see you back. You are a great escape from our current times
ОтветитьI just refound your channel after a few years. I freaking love your content. Thank you for being you and sharing it!
ОтветитьThe thick stem is interfering with the mechanism.
ОтветитьJeb, have you consider a 20% to 50% shade cloth, and painting you box tops White, or wrapping Aluminum foil to block the Sun from the Black sides?
ОтветитьWell idk where you are located but i live in ny my gardens soil only but a couple weeks a year i need to deploy a shade trap you know for that last late summer heat wave.
1 year in particular my mothers tomatoes dropped all the fruit sets and she lives 30 mins north of me.I put a shade tarp up and. I didnt lose any. They were the same tomatoes 95% of the plants in her garden she gets from me every year that i start indoors in the spring. Some times just them couple of degrees 1 way or the other make all the difference
I am back to watch your garden again, and I promise that I will not leave again.
ОтветитьITS JEB
ОтветитьHave you tried using air stones in your buckets and a solar panel or something? Seems like it would solve most of your bacterial build up.
ОтветитьAwee we miss u
ОтветитьHey Jeb, what are you growing these days
Ответитьhave you've considered running an airpump in the bins? Maybe the agitation would stave off the growth of bad bateria which may be killing the roots.
ОтветитьAlways fun to watch.
ОтветитьThen why not just put ice cubes into the water
ОтветитьI've never been so confused and clueless yet SO INVESTED in something.
Ответитьeverytime i look into jebs eyes i see a "carrot man"; A man who's personality is molded and crafted by plant's. I truely witness a Being that represent's You are what you eat. and for me he is a carrot
ОтветитьWhatup Jeb hope things are well. Summer in cali sounds very difficult for an outdoor hydro farmer. These plants can only handle so much heat in their reservoirs. I have two ideas. The first is going to sound too industrial, but have you tried using a 1/4hp or 1/2hp water chiller? Line up a few chillers in series/parallel with your buckets, and it may be enough to cool the reservoir temps down enough to keep the tomatoes alive.
The chillers will use electricity...but in these 100F+ days i dunno. I saw a passively-cooled house that was built into a short hill with a shallow slope. Two cooling vents ran all the way under the hill slope, effectively using the cool earth to draw the heat out of the air by the time it got into the home.
The second idea takes more labor but uses less electricity. If you had a long length of tubing or pipe (copper!) coiled up a few feet underneath the reservoirs, you could pump hot water down into the coil, where the earth would cool it down somewhat, and then it pours back down into the reservoir. This would use alot less electricity than a chiller-system, and might be good enough to keep the water from getting too hot in those totes.
Now...the pumps need electricity. But a few cheap solar panels could handle it. The pumps will make heat...but if you keep the pump outside the tote and use a lead-in line to draw the water into the pump, you could prevent the pump-heat from getting into the water.
Looking forward to next year's solutions! Everyone is going to be feeling as hot as cali in the coming years, so Jeb's innovations and engineering will be very much appreciated by generations in the future who want to continue growing and eating food in 110-120F summer heat.
Jeb you are a treasure.
ОтветитьGarden sorcery. Need more Jeb plant in peril trilogy ❤❤
Ответитьshade cloth for the heat.
ОтветитьThank you(*sarcasm*) for blocking your new video in Russia. Had to watch it through Tor.
ОтветитьGreat Video! Love the use of music and your voiceover!
ОтветитьJeb, great videos please keep them coming. Im sure you have been asked this a million times but what nutrient do you use?
Ответить
