GARLIC CAMEMBERT BREAD: THE FLAVOR EXPLOSION YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

This is not just garlic bread-it is a flavor-packed masterpiece you didn’t know you needed!

Ingredients:

1/2 large fresh ciabatta bread sliced in half

For the garlic butter:
4 tbsp of room temperature butter
1 smashed or grated garlic clove (adjust to your liking)
a handful of roughly chopped parsley

For the toppings:
2 Camembert Le Rustique, fridge temperature (@traderjoes)
(I used one and a half wheels of the cheese, depends on size of bread)
4 slices of bacon, roughly chopped
a handful of halved walnuts, chopped small
a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes
2-3 tbsp of honey
finely chopped chives

1. Preheat your oven to 400 °F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

2. Combine softened butter, garlic and parsley. Spread over your ciabatta halves.

3. Remove the top and bottom rind of the camembert cheese (a little tedious but worth the effort, does not have to be perfect. Slice cheese into strips and lay them across the bread.

4. Place bread on baking tray and bake for 15 minutes until melted and starting to become golden. Broil it for about 2-3 more minutes.

5. Roughly chop your bacon into pieces and cook it in a hot ungreased pan till it crisps up. Keep the bacon fat in pan, remove the bacon with perforated spoon and drain on papertowels. In the bacon fat on medium/low heat toast your walnuts for a few minutes. Pay attention and do not leave the stove, they can burn quickly. Once fragrant add the bacon back in the pan. Add honey and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes and glaze for a minute then turn off.

6. Remove the ciabatta from the oven and top with the glazed walnut and bacon crumb mixture.

7. Garnish with chives and drizzle with extra honey if you like. Slice in sticks and enjoy!
