How are you able to make such dark lines with HB lead? I can't create the same effect with a regular pencil.

One time, in French, my partner and I finished our worksheet, and we were just waiting to review, so I drew three massive pumpkins on my worksheet. My French teacher gave me extra credit for it XD

How do you get your pencil to shade that dark without tearing a hole in the paper. And on different paper it never gets that dark for me.
