Thank you for this! Would have had no idea how to attempt this without the video. Appreciate it
ОтветитьGood on ya mate. It really helped me fix mine. Cheers
ОтветитьIt’s easy to do it a brand new one, however, after years and years of usage it becomes very difficult to open
ОтветитьThanks alot, once i got what i needed i had this job done in 5 minutes.. who knew after months of an annoying drip it would be so easy to fix
ОтветитьThanks
Ответитьthanks.
ОтветитьThat spanner name please
ОтветитьI had the same issue as a few others below where I couldn’t get the handle off. Don’t underestimate just how sticky this can get. In all the videos it just slides right off, but this step can actually be a lot of work. I had actually screwed the little screw right off with the Allen key and it had fallen into the inside of the tap and it still wouldn’t come off. I was bouncing back and forth between wondering if I’d really got the screw off and thinking that maybe my tap was different than the ones in the videos in some way. The comments below encouraged me to just use more force which did actually work. For anyone wondering, I used WD40 and a LOT of force. I thought I might even break it but was beyond caring! By moving the handle from side to side with considerable force it popped off after about a minute. I replaced the cartridge with one I picked up so Bunnings for 20 bucks and it’s working perfectly. Hope this helps anyone else struggling with that first step.
ОтветитьAwesome very informative great job demonstrated.🎉
ОтветитьThe demo was good however in reality not simple to do. The cartridge lever broke & l had to turn off the mains water & arrange a plumber for Monday.
ОтветитьThanks Heaps!
ОтветитьThanks for the info
ОтветитьWhich instrument to use it
ОтветитьHad to get the multipliers around the tap handle, with a soft cloth not to scratch it, to get it off. Felt like it was welded on after 11 years of gunk buildup inside there. Thanks for the to-the-point video 👍👌
ОтветитьHot dayum, you rock! Thank you for the clear and concise instructions! I've liked and subscribed :)
ОтветитьWas feeling apprehensive about doing it myself but you made it soo simple. Thankyou for encouraging me to give it a go. Job done😊
ОтветитьThank you sooooo much
ОтветитьHas anyone tried to service/fix the failed cartridge?
ОтветитьAfter removing the old cartridge I noticed the cavity started to fill slowly with water. I replaced with new cartridge but water still seaps out. Is the entire mixer tap stuffed?
ОтветитьThank for the tip
Ответитьhaving problems here. where is that small screw that attaches the handle? I cant remove the handle😫
ОтветитьThank you so so much you have saved me hundreds $
You made it so simple a task that really scared me was completed in no time at all 👍👍
Thanks Bill, very helpful!
ОтветитьThank you. I can fix my tap this weekend now
ОтветитьTa, sorted
ОтветитьGreat video... that coloured sticker was definitely horizontal at the start though 😂
ОтветитьLegend
ОтветитьWhat if the top part can't come off
ОтветитьThanks Bill sorted easy!
ОтветитьTrying to change it now the bloody handle won't jiggle out after I removing screw with allen key??
ОтветитьMerci👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👍👍👍👋👍👍💥
ОтветитьDid you use a Hex Key set to undo the top part of the tap?
ОтветитьGood video. Short, to the point. Thanks.
ОтветитьThanks Bill, no need to get my plumbers licence now!
Ответитьcheers mate
ОтветитьSo good now I don't have to call a plumber to repair my mixer tap yaaay !!!
ОтветитьThanks Bill! Legend.
For an older mixer that has been in use for a while, suggest a screwdriver for levering mixer off and pilers for removing cartridge.
Cheers
Great video as usual. It’s quite criminal for these whole cartridges to need replacing instead of just that tiny little three ringed seal!
ОтветитьAbsolute superstar
ОтветитьExcellent, thank you.
ОтветитьThank you so much
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьHey Bill. Any tips on how to reduce water hammer in my pipes?
I've been looking at the Douststop Anti Hammer Water Control Valve at Bunnings but I'm not sure if it works or if its just a gimmick.
Cheers
Great presentation, Bill. Bring on the drips! 👏🏼👏🏼
ОтветитьThanks mate,
ОтветитьIt’s great! The fact that I have been watching your awesome how to’s & now want to go look for things to go fix! Super that you { soothingly} have taken the time to teach so much! Saved most all & subscribed & sent to my girlfriends so they can too! Thank you truly!
Ответить2 tips as well - 1. put never-sieze or vaseline on the new tap threads thats saves them bonding/corroding when scum gets in there (and it will). 2. If you have high water pressure get a tap that says it can handle the said pressure, i have had a few fail quickly because of the high pressure OR install a PLV (pressure limiting Valve) which is the best bet - 350kpa is a good option. i did this for the kitchen tap, needed 2 valves (1cold, 1 hot) plus i put stop/shutoff valves under the sink so didn't have to turn off the mains to change the mixer.
ОтветитьWow cool!! Love your vids
ОтветитьPerfect timing. Have a the exact one in my kitchen with a leak. Will save me a bit of $ and do it myself
Ответитьthanks Bill....another good vid mate
