No, It's basically confirmed Karen died as a result of her alcoholism.

She died in a gutter, unable to cope with the gang's collapse, micah's tearing apart her only family she ever knew and Susan shooting Molly on a whim out of 'loyalty'.

Susan hated alot of things, but she'd never kill them.

I think Grimshaw always resented Molly for being with Dutch and for not having to work and obey her. So when she "broke the rules" and Grimshaw finally had a reason to get rid of her without pissing off Dutch she went for it

I was always under the impression that Karen got drunk one evening, wandered off, and the Murphree survivors got her.

Karen likely died of alcohol poisoning! She drunk herself into the ground.

I knew Ms Grimshaw was crazy when she stabbed and killed the guy who was holding Susan hostage. She wasn't worried about Susan. She thought Susan like the other girls were her property. But I was sad to see her die anyway. It was the end of the gang.

I thought she and the other girls ran away with Trelawny?

Now I am not even mad at Micah for ending her. The game does a very good job fool us into believing the people in the gang are good guys, while, in reality, they are just very bad people

Seeing Grimshaw slap Mary-Beth made me less judgemental of Micah shooting her

As another commenter has already speculated, perhaps the cut dialogue was not so much an indicator that Miss Grimshaw killed Karen, but rather she may have found Karen dead having drunk herself to death. Grimshaw could not come to share what happened to Karen with the other girls and the rest of the camp, so just came up with the story that Karen just walked out of camp.

I think that Karen's exact end is always going to remain a mystery but probably tie into her alcoholism. This dialogue was probably removed because as the gang broke down, people were going to be lost and Karen didn't have the fortitude to survive on her own. Either she died of liver disease, got drunk and stumbled into Murfree territory and met her end with them, or ended up stumbling into Annesburg or Van Horn and prostituted herself to keep her addiction fed until she died of VD, a bad john, or alcohol poisoning.

Her story was supposed to show that when things are breaking down, some people are just lost and their endings aren't known as much as we regret it and regret not helping them more when we had a chance.

The fact that Grimshaw said “we can’t support a drunk” while defending Swanson the entire games is crazy. Grimshaw was just looking for an excuse to kill Karen. The same way she was looking for an excuse to kill Molly.

It's so weird how some folk go to such lengths to defend the gang when every single member is a terrible person save the child who will grow up to be a terrible person.

Like there are hundreds of videos hating on Micha when Hosea is just as terrible if not worse.

She makes it clear she can kill. I suspect this time it was an accident. Maybe drowned her by mistake or pushed and she didn't fall right. Even if she IS alive something rattled her.

How did susan kill karen it wasn't by gun fire or the other would have heard it. Explain the how ??

I used to suspect Karen’s fate was deliberately left unknown by Rockstar so she could return in RDR3.

The cut dialogue at least proves that R* did initially intend for Karen to have been killed by Grimshaw at one point. I agree it was too on the nose and they thought it more interesting for the player to try to piece together what happened on their own, with the possibility for Karen to have still been out there somewhere.

I think it's likely Karen got too drunk one day and finally attacked Grimshaw, got stabbed or something, then bled out so Grimshaw covered it up with the "She just up and left" excuse after hiding her body. The pattern we see in the game indicates an escalating conflict between the two, and it probably came to a tragic end.

I dont think that dialoge is deleted i am pretty sure i got it in a couple of my playthroughs

Hey stranger, I might have missed a vid about it, but you can actually find and loot Mrs.braithwaithe after burning down the manor

Go to the “Annesburg manor” location after American venom (that’s when I found it) and there is a corpse at the bottom of the stairs with a bottle of whiskey beside her with Karen’s hair style, hair colour and her dress

I love how Karen calls Grimshaw a murder when Arthur is canonically wanted for nearly 200,000 dollars in todays money for murder and theft 😂

Ms. Grimshaw loved the girls even if it was very tough love, she only wanted the best for them. She even loved Karen even though they fought a lot. The only reason Susan killed Molly was because Molly claimed that she told the Pinkertons about the bank robbery(which got two of the gang members killed and one arrested).
The gang is Susan’s family and it definitely pissed her off when she found out that 2 of her family members were killed and Molly was responsible(even though later we find out she wasn’t) how was Susan supposed to know that. Molly had to go regardless. Now Susan wouldn’t kill Karen, you see a scene of them sowing and singing together, Susan wanted the best for her just like Tilly and Mary Beth. I just can’t see Susan killing her, even if she was a drunk and was no use to the gang anymore.

Miss Grimshaw was a lunatic. She still didn't deserve to die laying bleeding out on the cold dirt and even saving tilly you see she did care for the girls. She's toughening them up but she was bloody harsh about it!!
