Here is another food for thought. Emmett Till became a national story but yet Emmett Till torture and murder stories were happening every day in Republican states. Yet none of it was reported by the three major news stations. If people were made aware that there were people that committed crimes like the Emmett Till tragedy or Greenwood Oklahoma race riot, Briarwood North Carolina race riot or Meridian Mississippi race riot or the countless lynchings then they may have looked more like us today.
It's easy to look back and only remember the good but use a critical eye and the world isn't that much different in so many ways.

Bad stuff was happening back then as it is today. We just have more cell phones to document every instance of everyday lives. This also changed how we thought about our lives due to the high amount of reporting on tragic events. That is basically going from three news stations to over 5,000, billions of cell phones and social media reports on the minute details of life. We've come to fear everything due to the knowledge that escaped us previously.

Kids do know how to play but they can't play like we used to because there are too many dangerous people around. You could trust majority of adults in your neighborhoods back then but not anymore, which is sad.

Meanwhile my kid is about to start his aerospace engineering degree on an Esports scholarship. Chomsky couldn't be more out of touch he needs to shut the fuck up

Kids play outside in my neighborhood nearly all year long (except the summer...) But this is Florida. No kids outside in Seattle or Kirkland (WA) or my brother's neighborhood in Frederick (MD)... Florida is special.
