I live near the Potomac river; I hear the helicopters and the V22 going when I walk along it's bank. I noticed that I can hear the woop woop of the helicopters blades at a farther distance than the V22, when it is in airplane mode. Consider what a different that would make in a combat zone. The V280 should likewise have that characteristic.
Looking cool flying into combat is the least of my thoughts. If it gives me a little extra edge, I am good with that.
