Pope Leo's First Public Appeal for Peace

“Let the fighting cease immediately, let humanitarian aid be provided to the exhausted civilian population, and may all hostages be released,” said the new pope. Pope Leo will make his first official public appearance today at St Peter’s Basilica. He has told Cardinals he wants to continue the work of Pope Francis.
