This was helpful. Thanks for the lesson
ОтветитьI'm 77 and just starting out. What about bag gloves? It seems that most videos show people not wearing bag gloves; but a few videos the instructor recommends both wrapping and wearing gloves to protect the wrists.
ОтветитьI’ve subscribed. I’ve recently purchased a heavy bag with speed bag combo and never really did the speed bag. I watched several video demonstrations on learning, but your 3 videos are very detailed, down to earth, and easy to follow. I’ve been working with it for a week now and definitely am better and faster because of YOUR training methods
Thanks for the lessons. I’ve also watched your jump rope vids and wonder about when a boxer goes from toe behind you to heel in front of you... and I figured that other move is a sorta resting move (when you move the rope side of each side of your body WITHOUT jumping-one side at a time). Can you possibly clarify?
Thanks again and hope to see more tutorials Coach!
How much air should the bag have? Should it be solid or a little softer?
ОтветитьThank you for the tip. I tried some of your teaching this evening. Noticeable improvement. Awesome lessons.
ОтветитьHow important is the swivel? I have the one you are using in the video on my old platform. I just got a new professional platform and it came with a swivel that has, sort of a bike chain link attached to the top link. It seems to be harder to control the bag. Do you recommend changing it, or should I learn to control the harder to use one?
ОтветитьHey coach. Loving the videos. I practice for an hour and then I return to your videos. I always find room for improvement. I go back to the bag and work harder, following your advice. I am getting better at all three tricks. I've moved on to the fist roll, as I was practicing that before I met you. Not very well I might add. Will you do a video on the fist roll, please?
ОтветитьHi I’ve been practicing what your teaching and I’m having some problems the faster I go the more the bag moves around do you have any tips on how to rectify this problem
ОтветитьGood morning coach. Thanks to your awesome training I have the three moves down really well. Thanks for taking the time to provide these lessons. I have a question for you. What type and brand of gloves are you wearing in video number 3? I bought a pair of gloves but they're too puffy at the knuckles. I don't want to wrap my hands, as the gloves are a quick on and off fix for protecting my hands when hitting the bag. Your thoughts?
ОтветитьJust a thought to share. I was please with my progress, so I decided to video myself hitting the bag. I found out by watching myself, that it was a good lession in humility. I was making a lot of mistakes in my form and hand placments. Dropping my hands, standing to far away or to close. ETC. I highly recomend it. I tiwll put you on point. Just saying.
ОтветитьThanks coach for getting back to me. I’ll check out the wraps. 👍
ОтветитьThanks Coach- just started the trick in your 2nd video. HAVING A BALL!! Keep publishing the tricks!
ОтветитьExcellent, thank you sir.
ОтветитьI think you are the best SB instructor I have seen on YT.
Ответитьthank you a lot for sharing these 3 videos. I got a speed bag in my room and thanks to you I use it correctly everyday.
thanks
Man you are good. Thanks
Ответитьgood shit man. thanks a lot. just bought my first bag. about to watch other videos.
ОтветитьDamn dude...... you frick'n rock
My 2nd day is going well.... Still slow
However speed sacrifices technique
Coach,
Thanks for being so generous in sharing your knowledge with us all. Because of you, I've finally got a decent speed-bag setup in my home, and I've been following your drills daily. It's only been a month, and I'm still on the first video, but I'm starting to lock in the rhythm with a bit of speed. It certainly helps, as a musician, to listen to the beats. Again, many thanks sir!
Thanks Coach!
ОтветитьWhile you can develop hand speed using this technique, it's not the same motion as punching and thus not the best method for developing useful punching speed. Hitting the bag straight on, with varying combinations of hands will develop much more useful punching speed the translates to the real world. Also, working hooks on the speed bag will "groove" your hooks, for more powerful in close hooks. Ali used this method to develop his punishing short inside hooks, though many don't know of this approach. Another way to look at it is if you have $5000 to make your car go faster, how much would you spend on making it go faster sideways.... probably none. So why develop speed that isn't the same motion you use to actually punch with!!! Since our training time is always limited, it's best to get the most applicable benefit out of it.
ОтветитьYou are a great teacher. I was getting frustrated but then you came to my rescue thanks.
ОтветитьGood Day Coach, having some hard time to keep the bag bouncing straight. It going right when I hit with the right hand and straight with the left hand. Even if I slow down the rym. Ok, my fast rate is prety low. ;-) Any Tip
ОтветитьThis was so helpful!
ОтветитьYou're a good teacher pal. My friend was shocked at my improvement from one day to the next.
ОтветитьSpeedball training useful for thai boxing?
ОтветитьThis video is a big help. Not a circle but a cutting motion
ОтветитьGreat teacher! I picked this up in one session. Thanks a bunch!
Ответитьhow do you go so fast
ОтветитьI really enjoy your instructions and explanations. Thanks coach!
ОтветитьI have bought the everlast platform which is only around $200. I’m finding that the bag does not move as fast as I expect. It’s not a large bag either. I’m assuming it is to do with the quality of the swivel bracket? I’m noticing the bit on yours that allows to bag to rotate, quite literally only spins around, where as mine almost moves with the bag too, creating a larger swing for the bag to travel?
ОтветитьThanks🥊
ОтветитьNew to the speed bag been at it about 3 wks . Want to thank u for wisdom . Appreciate it.
ОтветитьJust got a speed bag a couple weeks ago and love your videos. Very very helpful
Thanks so much
This guy just taught me how to hit the bag man! Thanks brotha
ОтветитьI feel like I'm pretty damn good for just starting out but I also feel I'm better than my speed bag allows me to be not too good with tools my system is kind of crooked so it throws the bag off every now and then working on getting a better set up
ОтветитьVery good video, Thank you
Ответитьold man here - been doing speed bag for some thirty years for old people exercise - have watched countless videos - read many books - spoken with and asked questions of many practitioners - must tell you yours are without a doubt the most exacting and precise in explaining and defining how this is done - am correcting my technique as i go along - please, will you make more - though these three will last me till the end of my time here on earth, i'd love to try anything else you have to teach
ОтветитьFANTASTIC INSTRUCTIONS 🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьI just tried this yeterday. Harder than it looks. It's like having 2 left hands to get the coordination. I have a cheap swivel & bag from Scheels & it don't bounce that easy. I know I need a new one but the good stuff costs money. 😭
ОтветитьThanks sir
ОтветитьCoach, your vids have taught me so much, for the first few days i thought installing the SB was a mistake, couldn't get it right. Your 1st begginer vid was everything! Subscriber for life Coach. Thank you so much!
