My dad left cheese in the refrigerator to get all mouldy and stuff but it's like regular cheese you put in toasts , sandwiches etc. I think he is thinking of eating it but I don't know if it's safe. Is it safe for him to eat it?

Well I was hungry and just ate some mature cheddar with little white dots on the outside, pretty sure it was mould but I was hungry. Melted it over pasta. The thought made me feel sick though so I couldn’t finish it lol.

I do feel there a little misinformation about Aspergillus Niger. I make a batch of home made concord wine, and as an experiment, left the bottles sealed for a few weeks to see what cultures were naturalky present in the grape juice fhat developed a mold. Almost every bottle gres at leadt 1 or 2 small (about dime sized) colonies of a black mold. With HOURS and hours researching which black mold this likely was the "pine sol" "lysok" or "citrus" smelk helped in determining fhat is was Aspergillus Niger.
I did find a frw scientific and medical studies that suggested that "it causes cancer" due to one chemical compound it produces in very small (nanogram) quantities is carcinogenic. However, I also fohnd that the citric acid you get for canning, and the acorbic acid that you get for a vitamin suppliment... yeah, imthey dont get it from oranged. Aspergillus Niger is used industrially to mantufacture and produce citric acid, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C), which were 2 ingredients in the graoe juice, and could be where this innoculation of A. Niger came from.
Not onky that, further research found that it produces a completely different compound, when it consumes tryptophan, that helps act as a super immune booster (aside from citric and ascorbic acids) and works in conjunction with E.Coli to produce 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) which has proven to help prevent or reduce the progression of alzheimers, dementia, parkinsons, MS, and other mental and emotional disorders.

So of course the "experts" who are getting paid by the drug company will say "stay away from this mold, it'll give you cancer" when in reality, more that one of the many bgproducts and chemical compounds it produces are anti-carcinogenic. Just like they tall you "done eat apple seeds, they contain cyanide" when they in fact DO NOT. They contain Amygdalin which produces a very small amoubt of hydrogencyanide during metabokism, which is quickly and easily broken down through further metabolism. But a quick search into "amygdalin in cancer Apoptosis" will kead you to about 5+ differrnt studdies proving thst amygdalin is HIGHLY effective in preventing the spread of cancer as well as aignaling the body to produce additional natural killer cells, killer T celks and white blood cells, and send them to the area where they are needed.

I feel that the "dont eat moldy cheese." Stuff is mostly propaganda to keep us sick. These microorganisms do a lot more for out health than doctors ever will. And i feel like for tens of thousands of years of human history and pre-history. Cheeses were innoculsted wifh the mold off the last batch of cheese.

i had a vacuum sealed gouda grow mouldy...
just to be on the safe side, i didnt use it in food that had any cream. was planning to make a creamy cheese pasta dish.

i sliced of the exterior and shredded the block and i split the portions.

i melted it over some baked potatoes.
if i felt unwell on the first portion, i would have dumped the rest.
the other portions was kept in the freezer. cant do that with high moisture cheese
