THE BEST 4K BLU-RAYS OF 2021 (SO FAR)

Great list of top 4k titles I got all Django surprised me on its release. Looking forward to the Halloween 4k next month 😁

I can't wait for Speed Racer to get a 4K re-release very underrated movie.

The movie e t is the worse 4k of all the time.

Willy wonker has great picture and music score but unfortunately the dialogue from the taking has a level of distortion that can really distract from the enjoyment of the film and they just ported the sound over to 4K without addressing this issue which is a real shame.

My question is have they done any of the final destination movies on 4K if not they NEED too

I think you can take off Quiet a place and repalce is with True Romance 4k from Arrow. I got the imported box set. Movie looked so incredible. So happy.

Also Can we get a list of best blu rays or best remasters? I got thr 48 hours paramount presents and I gotta say that movie has never looked better it was so awesome. I also got the Dead Zone from Shout. Again never looked better was so good.

I have a feeling " My Fair Lady" will be one of the first films available to stream in "True 8K" and it's Audio Track is a head of the game.

Maybe don’t use the word “goofy” when describing a CLASSIC…I mean, there are 100 other words to use when describing out-dated SPFX, without sounding condescending. It’s the BEST they had, AT THAT TIME.

The Black Widow film might actually look good in 4k, as it has 4k Master format, and it also used Redcode Raw (8k) as source format. So that will be actual 4k. But Shang-Chi seem to be back to 2k master format.

The Sucide Squad is also in 4k master format, and Redcode Raw.

Yet another great video. Totally agree with the top release so far this year.

The Thing is coming out from Universal, not Scream Factory.

Upcoming that are exciting: Halloween 1-5, The Thing, A Clockwork Orange, Django Unchained.

Surprised Donnie Darko didn't make the list

Just watched my copy of The Final Countdown tonight on a Sony UBP-X700 and Samsung Q70R 65". Throughout the movie there were times when the frame at the bottom was out of focus. And several scenes where parts of the scene were out of focus. Most was in focus and pristine. Did you notice this on your copy? Do I have a bad disc? Thanks!

Bro, A Quiet Place Part 2 was shot on 35mm film. You keep dogging on it saying it was shot digitally 🤦‍♂️

Django is #1 now and will be number 1 at the end of the year, nothing can compete with the quality of that transfer.

4K is the definition that classics needed

I won't say who I work for, but I know that MFL's 96khz sampling has the potential to sound better than an Atmos base mix (usually a 5.1 or 7.1 plus JOC data and object data) since they are mixed and compressed normally in 48khz. Also, if you don't source for Atmos/DTS:X, what are you going to put overhead or "in the room"? Seriously? The 2 main parties (walla), maybe the horse race sequence (horse foley), couple other scenes ("Show me"), the exit from the theater when she's on the street. Rest of MFL is in front of the camera and all you would've gotten is room noise or music spread. That UHD disc was indeed top notch. Kudos to the Paramount remastering team and their archivists.

I’d Chuck in Batman v Superman over A Quiet Place 2 but both great discs. ZSJL looks incredible on 4K 👍👍

The Empire Strikes Back is one of the best 4k titles I’ve seen yet. Just gorgeous. Hard to believe that movie is 41 years old.

Willy Wonka is on my list. Cannot wait for my copy of Halloween II 81' 4K. Been wanting a 4k release since the bluray came out.
Also Scarface 4K..The Empire Strikes Back 4k (The best Star Wars movie ever made imo) to name a few.

Thank you for your review! Super 8, 16 mm, VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, BluRay, 4K, 8K, HDR... Where does this lead? One can spend millions for movie formats and equipment. And VHS, LaserDiscs, DVD, BluRay only bring a few cents when selling them. But to buy 4K it costs hundres. This point does not make any sense. Selling other old stuff is in lot of the cases good money.

So where is Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor and Ben-Hur with Charleson Heston on 4K UHD?
With the Ten Commandments already on 4K, the above two movies would make a nice 4K trifecta of the Swords and Sandals flicks.

Confused!? I don't see your player ever listed in any of your 4k Home theater deets, nor does your TV seem to support Dolby Vision even though you extoll its virtues in your reviews. What gives?

Willy Wonka 4k really made me say "wow". I'd love to see what they could do with other older classics.

I'll add (I'm assuming you haven't seen this first one/s yet).....the 'Back To The Future' trilogy on 4K.....absolutely stunning what they have done with these movies, they looks like they could have been made yesterday. The audio is brilliant as well. Also, Toy Story 4, which you mentioned but didn't include in your top list......stunning picture quality and colours, beautiful to watch.

I re watched the Final Countdown on 4k and have to disagree. They didn't clean up any of the beginning, it get better as the movie goes along but don't think it is one of the best. Total Recall was a really good upgrade, the colors really pop on that one. The Trek 4k disc were a huge improvement.
