Base building in iteself is like half a decade worth of development time with all these features and then another 2 years to polish.

Hmm, the mining changes sound like they're relatively close to appearing at least in PTU from how Thorsten spoke to it. On the other hand, whilst the talk about crafting was interesting, one gets the distinct impression this is miles away - Pretty much ALL of the crafting talk was, "hand-wavium" and because CR and CIG, I can see this drastically changing 72 times before we see it in the PTU.
Also, the juxtaposition of a "national park" no-build zone in a "lawless" system sounds pretty daft.

So if the resource runs out in that certain area of your land claim, do you ever have to move land claims cuz now that spot has "run dry"? Cuz moving bases every so often would get very annoying.

just leave it open PTU no? It'd def has exploit anyway and deemed to reset.

Lets look at the history, of big CIG Christmas patch releases, of course they will push it out, they will go on holidays while its a broken mess and fix it next year- hey but at least they released it right?... right?

From my understanding of the base raiding, you will get a prompt to tell you you need to change shard, a bit like the present prompt when party leader goes to another server. So you may just have to click to actually change shard, then attack.
The first rule of the ruleset is “owner is online?”, but if he isn’t, they never said there is no possible raid, just it will happen on one single shard. So if different players on different shards attack, some will be prompted to change shard.

But most important thing, because I’ve heard that assumption so many times already in reaction videos or posts, they never actually say in the show that the player will have to be connected to be raided. They even give examples later in the show of the contrary.

CIG really wants to do one more sale before the end of the year - Mirai Guardian.

Honestly, it will be plagued with bugs and crashes no matter what they do. CIG cannot implement anything that doesn't have major issues. Thinking if they pushjit further out will mean a smoother release, then you obviously haven't played SC for very long...

I may be in the minority, but I like no blueprint for pledge ships. I’m cool with just having insurance/warranty on the ones I own. I think it brings the playing field closer to even for 1.0 and gives hunting for ship blueprints greater meaning.

It's a lose lose scenario for them if they don't release it they look like a joke for missing yet another date after moving the goal post every single year since 2016. If they release early everyone is going to laugh at them because its a dumpster fire and 4.0 is a dumpster fire regardless of how much cope you smoke it's borderline unplayable.

In terms of planet scanning it would be nice to see something like ME2 or Elite, but if its like Elite there better not be unlimited probe magic

I think just brace ourselves. It WILL be crap because progression in SC is NOT in lieu of a game being developed BUT a virtual space to play with the shit they sell you in the store, that works PERFECTLY I might add. Still, last I "played" was 15 minutes of 3.23 when it landed and that was the last I was willing to stomach. I probably put more in than I should have hoping and expecting great things but it never did get any better. Now I watch YT content hoping they dump the stupid manual cargo loading, add local inventory back, and lose those stupid fking terminals and make it a game. It's MEANT TO BE A GAME, not a LIFE... anyway, I'll keep watching and hopefully it becomes what we were expecting. In the interim I'll dodge the shills making content about how awesome it is... thanks for keeping it real Mike

I'm preparing for 4.0 to be 3.18 all over again. I'm likely not going to play until 4.1 or 4.2

The crafting and trading really remind me of Entropia Universe

@SaltEMike the mining changes are terrible. the one game loop that had depth, they just nuked it and dumbed it down. Instead of fixing scanning and giving people a reason to harvest anything but quantanium, they nerf the entire system for no reason. The main reason why people spent hours looking for 1 rock is there is no reason to pick up any of the materials they put in game and the scanning system hasn't gotten a worthwhile update in years so its a pain in the ass. By trying to make the mining loop "accessible" to everyone they're killing their game. Without depth, there will be no challenge to the different components of the game loop. First MM now this. Advanced materials should be alloys made from metals found in different zones, not common/uncommon/rare/epic levels of the same rock.

I'm curious if our bases/land claims will act like personal hangars. If we have ships sitting out, will they stay out when we log out so they are there when we get back? I was planning to kinda make my Pioneer part of my base (maybe). Or maybe I just want my 890 to see in the back looking sexy in all black/gold. When they said about building and logging off the drones destroy themselves if the vehicle they belong to is gone. Will we be able to leave them there when we log so they can reattach or is that only possible if we are online?

As much as it will be expensive for having 4 servers for 500 players short term I do think it is important to do for Star Citizen. Just hope it works well. I for them to sell land plots think it is a good idea but before that you should be able to get 3 in game plots before you have to buy them.

I hope you cannot insure a Javilin or Bangel or any other large Captial ship, Polaris and Idris yes but that should be it espeically Miltary ships.

Definitely glad people aren't getting blueprints to ships... That would be pay to win at it's finest. Anyone with a massive game package would be able to print UEC

So if I lose or my ship gets destroyed, I won't have the blueprint to make it again. Does that mean I just lose the ship I paid for or how would that work?

That sounds like a weird solution to the base thing. Imagine you're peacefully buying something in a player's shop and then it suddenly explodes because it was getting attacked on its home shard lol.

RELEASE 4.0 AFTER 7 YEARS

No mistake, they are pushing patches almost daily! 4.0 EPTU is as stable as live, so no issues there. They do need to ensure missions are working, etc.

The blueprints for "X number of times" make perfect sense for retrieving subscriber flair or purchased in the store. If you lose your subscriber flair, then you get a non-tradable, single-use blueprint to recreate your lost item.

I wonder if you can traverse the verse looking for bases that didn't pay their fees, buy them up, scrap out the buildings, and take any loot left behind. kind of like Storage Wars.
