Octopath Traveler 2 Lvl 55 Consistent Secret Boss Completion Guide (No Duplicate Battle Tested)

I had already given up on spending the time and effort to beat this boss but since this popped up on my recommended and it laid out everything so nicely I gave it a shot and was actually easy when following everything you said, so thank you very much :)

I keep failing on the 2nd phase with this setup. For some reason I can't get close to the damage with Hikari that I'm seeing in the video. Mine is level 89 too. I haven't used any nuts on him though maybe that's it?

i kind of wish i knew ahead of time how i should've been investing stat boosting nuts, bc my hikari with the same exact equipment and being 22 levels higher has 100 less attack, and 2500 less hp. it doesnt matter too much for the fight but it just feels like im doing something wrong. sick strats though this finally got me to get the battle tested weapons and better equipment

First of all thanks a lot for putting together this detailed and helpful guide! 🙏 I tried over and over again to defeat Galdera without looking at a guide, but I was utterly lost in phase 2 lol no clue how to go about it, so I finally looked for a guide :P As other people in the comments mentioned as well though, I have a weak ass Hikari, gave all the physical dmg / crit nuts to Ochette. I can clear the arm etc with limb from limb, but after that there is just not enough dmg coming through for Galdera. Even SP are an issue, I don't have enough left for a second attack on Galdera 🥲 My Hikari is Lvl 57, so I guess my only option is to level him a bit?

I'm not sure how you got hikari to 999 phys attack. I must have done something wrong because hes at level 56 for me, I set him up same as you, gave him every phys attack nut i had, and hes only at 861. Any idea where I might be messing up?

Just here to say the same thing as everyone - incredible guide. Botched it twice in the 80s because I forgot to max Hikari’s latent and give Agnea Aelfric but got it on Round 3. Do you have a Ko-Fi or PayPal I can donate to haha? Appreciate you!

I’m confused at the 35 min mark the bosses turn was next when you used ochette to give a jam then suddenly the bosses move skipped

Can't get make hiarki vs high hp wise. And my characters in 80s. Does not work at all. Tried so many guides they all fail.

@Darrin Newcomer is this boss do able without ancient cursed talisman I accidentally sold mine.

This game really comes down to the Boss fights.. only needed help for Vide and Galdera!! Havent unlocked the scret final boss but i wish they would switch it up. Seems like Galdera will be the Omega Weapon of this series

Truly this saved me so much time and stress, I did this at lv90 with some at 80 and before this guide I tried to fight him without strategies and ended up picking at the souls for 30 minutes with no real damag done lol. Haven'r fought a crazy strategic boss like this since the fighting the Adventurer, the Boss Gauntlet and the Wifi Demons on Bravely Default, this boss here is no easy feat but requires strategy indeed. Your IQ must very high indeed, to put all this together!! Thank you very much again!!

I am starting to loose hope i do everthing you do and the last time at phase two i just nuked his adds and after that when he unlocks he goes first and wipes his ass with my whole party

I feel like Merchant would be the better subclass for Ochette, so if you need to during the cycling elemental phase, you can use a fully charged Beastling Hired Help and not have to use a Decaying Dragon Essense. And, though not quite as powerful as Aeber's Reckoning, the stronger Hired Helps chip in a good amount of damage if you get the opportunity.

i tried this strategy but I can't seem to get enough damage whenever throne or osvald attacks... are nuts required? because I can only do 20,000 plus damage

I really don't know how you do it. I equipped everyone you equipped them with and gave them the same second jobs. Same Skills. I had the same exact turn order you did. Did the same thing you did, and I can't get past phase one.

This strat did it for me! I didn't even know until I went to fight this boss that nuts were permanent buffs...

I have a question, how can I repeat the cleric job on other characters? since when I want to do Throne and Agnas Cleric does not allow me :(

With a lot of RNG and a dozen try then I finally get it done, I can confirm this strategies is work as a gem but some of the RNG such as cri or turn can also put you down. PS. Thank you so much for this guide, I can get another 100% and move to another project.

Hey there, I tried to follow this guide to beat the boss and funny enough, its the 2nd phase of the fight thats giving me trouble. For some reason my Hikari doesnt deal as much damage as yours does in the video. I have the exact same class/equips/skills on my Hikari and I’m on lvl 60 too but my phys attack is about 100 less. I noticed your Hikar’s phys atk is at about 550 while mine is only 420. Im assuming you used nuts to boost your stats? But I already used up all of mine so i dunno how else to boost his atk

Im trying to use your strategy to fight galdera, but whenever I get to the second phase of the fight, none of the characters’ A Step Ahead is activating so I dont get the extra turn. I used most of the equipments you have, but my chars are still lvl 48ish so I dunno if thats the problem for me. What do you think?

First of all I want to say thanks this guide was really helpful! It was confusing though in one sense because you have three different characters with cleric as their secondary. The game will not allow me to do this...

Lvl 70 higher stats than you’re throne and the same equipament in this video with buffs and the eye defense debuffed and my aeber reckoning it’s doing like 30k don’t know why lol

worst feeling was that i managed to skip all phases in the first fight but forgot to recharge hikari's latent power for the second fight

Please help me!!! I keep getting to 2nd phase but with all same gear and lvl 65 Hikari I’m still not pushing the damage enough and get wiped. No more physical attack nuts

Yeah this boss sucks. I know it’s optional, but it’s required for 100%. I think if they made that phase with the elemental weaknesses a bit easier, it would be so much better, still challenging but fair.

how you stand hikari with 1Hp?

I have Oswald at 999 elemental attack, same build as this + latent power and I still only do half of the damage you're doing with one true magic III. What's going on?

Great work! Thanks again for the excellent guide. My fight didn’t go this way at all except for two attempts. Totally forgot Agnea didn’t have aelfrics and had to redo it not once but twice lol. Made it to the second phase 3x out of 10 attempts and beat him on the third try.
