I think they should just write a good story with well-written characters. There's no need to rely on stereotypes. It's not that hard.
ОтветитьThey shud have made miles into Ogun
ОтветитьThe term racist has lost all meaning at this point. Being ignorant is not the same as being racist. This shit's crirngey asf but trying to claim there's racist intent behind it is such a stretch. It's just out of touch, and arguably a very dishonest and flat attempt at pandering, but racist? If we start calling the smallest things racist the word is just gonna lose all its weight
ОтветитьNo no. Keep doing this cuz this is all black ppl are. Thugs who ruin everything they touch.
ОтветитьBy Odin's fade got me weak as hell
ОтветитьIt was made for teens on twitter is my guess
ОтветитьI don’t like characters whose whole character is their race. The only exception is when it serves a purpose that carries out the story in a meaningful way. However, the character should still stand on their own as their own character.
The best example I can think of is Knuckles. While his story is involved about his race, he doesn’t need to rely on his race or culture to be a good character character alone.
Mr.popo it's not black people
ОтветитьAlright enough cringe
ОтветитьThis is so racist its just sad and pathetic
Ответитьits be4en 2 years and they still think this of you. They still think you're nothing but a stereotype to be protected. These woke morons hate you.
ОтветитьRaiden is basically Asian Thor. His weapon in Mortal Kombat 4 is a hammer. He has a rice hat. Now that's racist too?
Ответитьthe comic is cringe
Ответитьif they ever try to make an autistic character we all screwed
-me, an autism haver.
damn cant write a non racist story? my lil sis writes less biased stories
ОтветитьThis comic is full of the exaggerated swagger of a black teen.
ОтветитьMiles being thor would be a cool concept but the way they made it was TERRIBLE
ОтветитьMr popo was based off of some god but wasn’t supposed to actually be a black character from what I remember
ОтветитьI remember writing a black character and honestly he was inspired by couple cultures (I chose native America) and honestly it’s not that hard to create a black character with interesting, in-depth lore and also make it cool. If only one person can write it well, so can an entire studio. So I feel like the comic has no excuses
ОтветитьOk so I just thought I’d say this because I don’t quite see people talking about the fact that it’s if miles morales was Thor and not if Thor was black so you guys should be more mad if there portraying miles wrong than if it’s not how black people act.
ОтветитьThat narration legitimately sounds like something you’d see on 4chan
ОтветитьAs someone who believes in the Nordic gods and traditions
this is ngl pretty offensive to the Nordic gods and people who believe in them but I don’t know anymore as Disney is destroying them luckily
The Scandinavian people still exist, believe and tell their stories to each other and new generations
It’s a what if man
Ответитьthis is craaaazy, this sounds like a friggin satirical parody instead of a real thing that was legitimately published seriously.
ОтветитьWait, he is Miles??
ОтветитьI think it's a good idea to have a Black Thor. this Thor is from a Different Multiverse. Asgard fuse with New York . Miles Morales Fuse with Thor . they're done this before there's nothing new. Thor Fuse with Tony stark. Doctor Strange fuse with Iron Man. same thing happened with DC Comics. Superman fuse with Batman. the Joker fuse with Batman.
ОтветитьWhy the f**k don't they use a focus group to check this. This sucks as bad as Disney's darkest history. I can say for sure that rappers do not rap all the time. Stereotypes suck. Check out Barbie and the way my country was pictured. Windmills, tulips, bikes, really? Or to keep it in the Marvel family, check out Spiderman 2. But this is on a whole other level of stupid.
I'm always careful when using the term racist. Racist to me implies intent. This I would qualify as "Racial Insensitivity." Just as bad, by the way, don't get me wrong. Because the pain caused is the same, no matter what. But I don't think Marvel tried to offend its black audience with intent. They are not that stupid. But my advice to them, use target and focus groups before you burn you fannies and hurt your audience (I'm white and offended by this crap that is not even funny). And before you ask indeed, I'm offended by black Pete also. Not before the BLM community pointed out the problem, since there was no racist intent (heck, a black girlfriend if mine loved playing black pete). But when people are offended and vocalize this with real good arguments. Racist 19th century author of the backstory, stereotyping, blackfacing, the cultural ramifications, etc. I get the point. It's not about the intent in this case. It's about sensitivities and insensitivity. In these cases, the offended is always (no, I mean always) right, and the offender always needs to take a step back, apologize deeply, and change his or hers behavior ASAP. As most communities in the Netherlands did. Most, not all, I'm ashamed to say.
And if some Dutchy no tries to play the cultural heritage card. Culture is not a thing written in stone but a fluid process. There are so many things that were part of our culture that we abolished in the past.
Maybe the strategy was to have everyone hate it so much that no one would ask for a comic with a black or Latino character ever again. It’s the only conclusion that I came to because I can’t believe that they were serious about this.
ОтветитьI'm tryna figure out how this is a What if Miles Morales, but it's nothing to do with spider man. And they just made him Thor and made every other character also black(bc i guess they couldn't make this without doing that??). This is dumb af.
ОтветитьThey really fell on their face with this one lol
ОтветитьAnansi and iktomi spider trickster
Ответитьimagine having access to content that didn't go through the scientology sanitization process. the world would be so much more interesting.
ОтветитьOne game in mind that have good representation is Killer 7 the main character Garcian Smith and one of the major villain Andrei Ulmeyda, both are super interesting character that don't rely on any outrageous stereotypes. It's crazy that they are better representation in a japanese game from 2004 than from this Thor comic.
ОтветитьThe Bully soundtrack is too good bro
ОтветитьWhat upsets me is that this isn’t just Black Thor. This is Miles Morales, an already established and well rounded character. They took a great character and did… whatever the hell this was.
Ответитьfunniest thing is that hammer has graffiti... because obviously every black person loves to slap graffiti on anything.
ОтветитьI know for Sure that Noe Archiviste from Vanitas No Carte is good POC representation. Because Noe is Noe he isn't defined by race but by his identity which is very much shown, from his child like curiousity to his convictions and Ideas.
ОтветитьWow... this is like that time they made a couple of "snowflake" blk guys (dressed in blue suits), claiming that they are "woke lefties who defend rights and justice", trying to reclaim the slur (snowflake) as "something to be uplifting"/ badge of honour, (like how blk people use the word "n**ga".) I actually spoke up about it in a comic book group on Facebook and a bunch of ole a$$, cis gendered (beer gut and all) white dudes got triggered and tried to bully. mock and shame me for speaking out about how offended I - as a blk person - felt about Marvel making two blk guys (brothers), represent woke-ism in all the wrong ways. I guess Marvel still didn't bother to learn they damn lesson. Steups!
ОтветитьHere's the thing. I agree this example is bad, but would you rather us white writers ignore poc? If we have all white characters, twitters mad! If we make one little mistake, twitters mad! People talk bad about white people all the time, I grew up hating my skin color because it wasn't dark enough, because I was mixed. And yeah, thats my own problem, but i knew a lot of girls whod agree with me. Black people get to be inspiring and clever and unique while white people are dumb blondes and jocks.
ОтветитьThey shouldn't rebrand characters as things they are not. History doesn't need to be erased with a new face and race. Let there be some new heroes or villains with their own stories that can compliment previous heroes and or villians. People shouldn't replace people for the sake of diversity.
Ответитьmr popo is not bad representation of us, because he's not black. he's a djinn/jinn, his clothing down to the magic flying carpet he's on hint at that. there is bad representation in dragon ball, with characters like killa in the 90s english dub of dbz, but people saying that popo is black because of the dark skin are just spreading a false narrative.
ОтветитьThis comic is SO bad that it seems like a shit post, and it should be as such from now on 😂.
ОтветитьThey do not care about blacks, lgbtqs, or anyone for they matter, they simply care for your pockets
ОтветитьThis is painful. I'd heard the idea and thought it was a bad idea but. Oh my gosh.
Ответить"By Odin's fade" absolutely perfect line idk why y'all hate this /j
Ответить
