This movie isn't as good as it is rated, just watched it. It's also hard to make out who are the bad guys. What this movie does show us is how ugly men were back in the 70's.

People seem really quick to judge. Most these people leaving hateful comments probably weren't even alive to be effected by this conflict. People need to remember that nations aren't hive-minds not everyone from that country is the same and they most definitely aren't all responsible for the actions of that nation.

The world is full of actions and reactions. When something happens people react and they often react badly and then the people that react to that also react badly and on and on it goes. I'm English, am I responsible for those killed during the making and maintenance of the Empire? No. Are my parents? No. Are my grandparents (one of whom was stationed in Northern Ireland)? No.
This goes for whatever side you may see yourself on. You cannot condemn someone for the actions of their country.

As an English youth I feel great sympathy for the plight of the Irish people, and I do feel guilt because to an extent my country was built on the conquest of other. However, I refuse to feel responsible and I refuse to feel the need to apologise for something that I had no hand in.

From a completely non-racist standpoint, is the inclusion of a black soldier entirely accurate? I would have thought that in 1971 all the soldiers would have been white.

This movie was amazing! Jack was such an amazing actor. Just watched it on Amazon Prime and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It's a bit grim tho with the blood hahah :D 10 out of 10 :)!
