We got our pure cover safety who is also a plus in the run game.
A lot of folks thought he was slow. When I watched his film, I realized he was usually in the right place at the right time. He could be our next DMac. Peppers and Dugger are great in the box. Woodson has recovery speed and recognition as a CF type Safety.

Christian Elliss is the guy to watch. He'll make his mark this szn! Him and Spills will be stout for this defense. Woodson's smarts popped on film! Always in key position to make a play. Just has to make the play! First year starter is not a reach for Woodson, no sir!

Yea Woodson looks like a potential starter, exactly when we can't say? Between our draft value picks and UDFA's who were "should have been drafted" it's shaping up to be the most exciting pre-season in years. Go Pat's!

Even with Peppers and Duggar, no one has really replaced what McCourty did for the Patriots, until they drafted Woodson. He is another 4.4 40 guy just like Henderson and Williams. 3 speedsters. I was mock drafting him often in 6th round most of the time, taking Swinson in the same range often as well, along with our 1st 4 picks, who I was mocking to the Patriots often. So 6 players I somehow was feeling made the draft cut. Still waiting on my lotto numbers to match up.Then I will be able to go to live games. : ) Looked at club level seats at the Tampa Patriots game between the 30 yard lines. $1025 per ticket. Like $600 each at the games at Carolina and Tennessee. Man. Guess I will have to be content to watch on my 22 inch PC monitor. So lame.

Have you seen the Madden NFL 2025 sim games of the Patriots vs whoever? I guess you can't update the coaches. They had the new names from free agency and the draft on the teams, but had Mayo on the sideline. So bad. The sim I saw had the Patriots beat the Steelers with Rodgers. The score was like 37 - 13, something like that. Madden does not have our defensive power properly plugged in. There is no team running the ball on this Patriots D like Madden was doing. Henry was the only one catching the ball most plays. Lame. Fun but lame.

There's a need at FS that he fills. His profile reminds me of Ryan Clack, not saying he's that good but his skill set. I like the pick. A FS that can cover and play in the box along with Nickle sub packages.This team needs NFL talent more than positions.

Safety is always overlooked unless you have an Ed Reed Troy Palamalu Sean Taylor type safety.

Lol, are you serious? First, him starting is just coach decision making not solely based on talent. Would this guy start for top 25 teams in the league, absolutely NOT.
Because this team hasn't had a legit deep / cover safety since JMac left, any sliver of hope is seen as rockets red glare.

Safety was absolutely a need especially in coverage and there was a run on Safeties at the end of the 3rd and a few were after Woodson in the 4th
